I have male toons, but most of mine are female. I'm surprised more men aren't admitting to playing female toons a lot. Like literally almost all the guy friends I have in ESO, they have female toons, some with pretty disproportionate bodies.

Maybe most just don’t see them as their main? I don’t know. It isn’t that odd to me though. Im old enough to remember a time where in online games if it was a female character 99% chance it was a dude. they all wanted to pretend to be women, so they would get free stuff. But as more girls/women Have joined our gamer ranks things have really evened out. Well except for this chick. Im still a dude.

Disappointed there was no option for "both" male, and female equally

I am a male, have 7 chars, 2 male, 5 female, but I really just play four of the 7. Sure I play the two males(greatsword/sword & board) I have the most, but I do spend a good amount of time on two of my female chars(both sword/board) also.

I was tempted to chose male playing other, but that could be inferred differently than intended.

I usually have an idea of a theme for a character when I make one, usually based on the class, race, sex, etc. I don't particularly prefer characters of any specific sex, though my girls are generally nice to look at.

These poll results are a reflection of male sexual insecurity. Although I think we actually might be improving (I don't think males playing male characters would win out 10 years ago).

I dream of a future where "staring at a male character's ass for 4 hours" isn't "gay". A future where one man can look at another man in a change room without having to briskly break eye contact and repeatedly shout "no ***". A future where caring about how you dress and actively comparing yourself to other men isn't a sign of femininity and sexual attraction to those other men. Basically, men need to get to a stage where they are as comfortable with their sexuality as women are.

I now have 14 characters (or was it 13?). They're all female except for three. None of the three that are male are human, I guess because I feel weird playing as a male human. I tried playing as a male Nord once, and just couldn't do it.

Through library databases (especially libraries at college campuses), a simple engine search will yield results directly from academic researchers and scientists. If that is more preferable for you, then you could also go that route.

Well, sorry, but i have some standards, i won't just take everything that a journalist and a student say for truth.

Especially since journalist have proven themselves to be not very credible these days, and with all the gender studies academics that there are these days, which are obviously biased, i don't take anything coming from their mouths as credible.

Considering that (according to Tumblr) there are 71 genders, I can understand the need to narrowing it down for the sake of brevity.
