    Lucifer - Dunmer MageDK dps

    Dunno.
Seemed like a good Idea at the time.

My Bosmer crafters name is Bigus Dicus.
He was original Falcon and It's the only name I could think of.

    - Elbereth Elf-Born, female Nord, nightblade - Back in TESIII time I was starting the game right after reading LotR books. Elbereth is a name I took from there as it "sounded fantasy". I got further validated with feeling that this name is 'in lore" when I found an elf named Elberoth on Solstheim. It became my tradition to use that character in TES games, I'm just weird like that. When I started ESO the name was already taken so I extended it to Elbereth from Whiterun. With recent free name changes I changed it to Elf-Born to match the backstory I invented for my rp guild on why does a Nord have elven name. It's simple, her daddy is a Dunmer.

    - Dranos Athrys, male Dunmer, warden - This is the daddy. =) I want to remake him as necromancer when Elsweyr comes out. Dranos is just a Dunmer name that sounded nice and Athrys is the surname of one of my favourite NPC's from TES III - Ranis Athrys from the Mages Guild in Balmora.

    - Detritus Fortesque, male Breton, one-eyed templar - Detritus is a Breton name I found on uesp.net and immediately I knew I had to pick that one. It's the name of a troll from the watch of Ankh-Morpork in Terry Pratchett's books and as the character was made originally to be a guard in rp session it did fit perfectly. Fortesque is a tribute to Medievil games where the protagonist is an undead one-eyed knight named Daniel Fortesque. It also just sounds a little bit French to me, so I guess it works as a Breton surname.

    - Wears-Women's-Clothing, male Argonian - Self explanatory I think.

    - Dralas Andrethi, male Dunmer, Temple Ordinator for rp purposes - named after two sleepers (people influenced by Dagoth Ur) from TES III, Dralas Gilu and Dravasa Andrethi. And also after this:
    6d0.png

I really enjoy inventing characters and hiding meaning behind their names, as you can see. Is it weird?

I try to be lore-friendly with my names, and those names usually aren't nything special. In some cases I also continue naming traditions (reusing names of my chars in other ES games), however.
Thus my ESO Bosmer's name Sasenthil is a variation on Jazinthi, the name of my Redguard in Daggerfall. My Redguard Warden is Darius al-Ghassani - Darius as a nod to Redguard's Cyrus (both are Persian names). My ESO Imperial templer Galen Atrox had a namesake in Oblivion (who was also a staff-wielding blond Imperial). And finally, Octavia Civello, my latest Imperial - when I found out that the ancestors of some of the Imperial Guard Captains from Oblivion lived in Kvatch (there's a Truand family and a guard with the last name Hayn, for example), I decided that Octavia would also be the predecessor of one of the Oblivian Guard Captains, hence Civello. Her descendants will inherit her icy blue eyes B) .

Most of my names in this game are lifted or adapted from elsewhere, whether my creations or other people's, including:
    • Francis Crawford (hero of the Lymond Chronicles, and my character name in several RPGs)
    • Percy Blakeney (the Scarlet Pimpernel)
    • Revan Bladesinger (from another MMO character of mine, but the Revan part of course originally comes from KOTOR)
    • F'nor Canth (conbining two Dragonflight names)
    • Merlin Wyllt (combining two versions of the name of the legendary Arthurian character)
    • Elvira the Dark
    • Fencer Bladesong
    • Marcus Vidorius
    • Quentin D'Orien (as the "D'Orien" part suggests, my first use of that name was in Eberron)
    • William Kane (my own character, but he's been renamed, since I realized he should be Hispanic)
    • Aiwyn (named after my LOTRO main)
    • Thorn Holloway (my character Heather Rose Holloway's preferred nickname)

    and also
    • Loren Greenheart

After deleting a bunch of alts and then getting the name change tokens I went with pseudo Latin names in the form "honorific descriptor". Makes it easy in chat and when making new characters to play around with.

    Main account:

    Domina Dolore - Redguard stamsorc/tank
    Domine Ignis - Altmer magsorc
    Domine Draco - Breton magDK
Domina Ferrum - Nord DK tank
Domine Solis - Imperial templar tank
Domina Lacerta - Argonian templar healer
Domina Umbra - Orsimer stamblade (may be changed tank)
Domina Laminae - Khajit nightblade healer (may be changed to sap tank)
Domina Nix - Dunmer warden healer
Domina Vites - Bosmer warden tank

...and for some reason a random named "Lakelover Wellarmed" a pacifist Breton templar healer.

    Alt account:

Domina Fulmen - Altmer sorc tank
    Domina Aurora - Orsimer templar
    Domina Invicta - Bosmer templar

Arredes - My main, Bosmer Stamblade - Honestly can't recall where this came from. I think it was an attempt at a non lore-breaking name.
Crystal Fraggins - Breton MagSorc who likes frags
Geographically Challenged - My tank. I get lost a lot!
Hides-on-Rocks - Magblade who likes rocks

    - Daedrós: Daedra + greek name for mag dk (Aedros would fit the magplar theme)
    - Dragybor: male name i came up with, means nothing, but I liked the suffix -bor
    - Yenari: female name i came up with, means nothing
    - Zerg Overmind: play of words, mix of eso zerg and starcraft zergs + overmind (originally for a bombblade)
    - Yondaime Raikage: character of Naruto, fits the stamsorc theme very well
    - Valkyria Valhalla: imo a good name for a nordic shield maiden themed character
    - Devoured-his-siblings: this argonian doesn't have much family left, I wonder why..
    - Enjoys-the-slaughter: the only sibling who survived his brothers hatchling massacre, some say he was the mastermind behind this tragedy...
    - Hyperion der Obere: greek titan, fits the magplar theme, but i don't like the title I had to add
-Affa al'Dschinni: character from a book series I like, I added the "alDschinni" (I also made him look like a Jinn)
    - Khaba the Cruel: character from the same book series, really fits the petsorc theme, since he summoned his own army of enslaved jinn

Strikes-with-Arcane, argonian stam sorc: my character I always play in every Elder Scrolls. He's a spellsword, so a stam sorc makes sense for him.

Melina Elinia, dunmer magicka dk: "Mel" is a character I carry from game to game, headcanon to headcanon. In this game, that's just what her name and race ended up being.

Garrus Loridius, imperial templar: the name Garrus comes from my favourite character in Mass Effect

Maxine Cauline, breton magicka nightblade: reference to the main character of a game I'm very fond of, Life is Strange

Sinnia Lavellan, bosmer stam warden: my attempt to recreate the character I played in Dragon Age: Inquisition, who was an elven spellsword (or a "knight enchanter", as they're called in that game.) I'm quite fond of the character herself, it's just a shame I don't like warden very much. if they ever add a class change token, i'd likely make her into my stamdk.

Follows-the-Arcane, argonian petsorc: his name comes from how he is a devout follower/worshipper of Strikes-with-Arcane, and something of an apprentice to him.

Bolgrog the Sinh, orc stam dk: a reference to Sinh the dragon, a boss from dark souls 2 who has a whole poison theme going on, just like stamdk.

when necro comes out, I'll be making 2 of those, but I haven't decided on their names yet. One of them will be Garrus' sister, and the other will be another argonian with some relation to Strikes-with-Arcane.

Since I have 10 that's too many, but my major two are always:

Den Moria - always an elf, male or female, sorcerer - mainly because I play this character in all TES games and enjoy it. They usually end up pretty nasty, but heroic at the same time. Definite DPS.

Daelon Duluc - inevitably a Breton magicka user (in ESO he's a Templar) - that's my nom'du'plume on the web and he always looks like me

Urug'Hai - male Orc (in ESO a DK), basically a kick-a** dual-wielder/heavy armor - because he's a character in one of my books that I've always enjoyed writing.

I have a stable of names I tend to re-use between games, and then there are others where I just throw letters at the screen until I come up with something "fantasy-ish" (Khaelani, Aestanya, etc)

And then there's my mule character, Cargo Mistress :# (who's wearing a set of civvies that wouldn't be out of place among the dockworkers.)

All four of my characters have names taken from UESP, with me combining gender-appropriate first names from the racial lists, and then a last name from the race-appropriate list.
In-game username: Un1korn | Happy member of the PCNA UESP guild (Resident Daggerfall Covenant enjoyer) | Main & basically only character: Crucian Vulpin, Imperial Dragonknight of the Daggerfall Covenant, and Undaunted Bulwark (I tank) | Mountain bike enjoyer and vulpine appreciator | If you know me from PCEU: No | To ZOS: THANK YOU FOR LETTING ME BRING MY HORSE INTO BATTLE!

I don't care for character creation. I tend to just do some random appearances until there is one I consider different enough from other characters (I often forget which one I am logged into) and then I just come up with a name to be done with it.

Sometimes I'll have fun with it, like my recently max-leveled Argonian Has-no-future who was created for crafting writs in the previous Jubilee. That was created the same day as another Argonian, Competes-Many-Writs, who is now level 31 and should be max level in a 2 weeks from daily random dungeons. I also have a no max level character from close to launch who was initially my main provisioner, Provisioning Mulez. She was never intended to be leveled, but then I leveled her a few months ago by running daily random dungeons with free xp scrolls as a templar tank.

I also have I Am A Vampire, who is a Werewolf. I figured maybe people will try to use fire against them and end up frustrated. There there is Haircicles, whose is a Warden with icy-looking hair, though the name is pronounced like Sophocles.

I also have Lua Error. I was hoping people would think that their addons were glitching.

All my characters are mostly named after Roman Era officers or generals. I wont list all but my two current mains Odovacar (Dunmer DK; My OG first ever, never changed, ESO character; who's done almost everything Tamriel has to offer vTrials, HM's, etc.) and my newest alt Theoderic The Great (RG, Nightblade).

I shared the background on these two a while back in the "share your favorite characters" or w/e thread...

Theoderic the Great was a goth (second official king of Italy shortly after the fall of Rome) who was successful in executing a murder plot against the 1st official king of Italy, Germanic conqueror of Rome, Odovacer (aka. Flavius Odovacar). Odovacar ruled swiftly early on but as all ancient history has it a rival swooped in with intentions to dethrone. Odovacar rallied his men same as Theoderic and war soon rampaged through the Italian landscape once again. Both armies suffered great losses over a short period of bloody battles spanning from autumn to early spring, 493. After many attempts from both factions to reach an agreement, they finally struck a deal, Peace. Now I know what you’re thinking, peace rather than war is out of the ordinary for this time but both sides knew they had to stop the bloodshed so one or the other could rule and rebuild weakened Italy still reeling from the fall of the empire. This treaty stated that both Theoderic and Odovacar would rule as equals over Italia. Both signed and news traveled fast across the lands. Shortly there after a celebratory event was planned to glorify their diplomacy, however, during this state dinner Theoderic jumped up from his seat, drew his sword, and stabbed Odovacar in his shoulder fatally wounding him in front of all their guests. Men from Theoderics side rised up and started chanting "All hail the new King, Theoderic, slayer of Odovecer, conquer of conquerors, Theoderic the Great" striking fear in Odovacars men leaving them free to live slaves until the end of their days. Today, this story lives on through German folk tales and theatrics that actually depict Theoderic as a heroic Germanic figure rather than the blood thirsty sneak he was. Perfect name for my stamblade
