vMSA Stage 6 Spider Webs and obelisks

Maybe I am too stupid, but actually I have been wondering on end boss, i cant pass him due to spit mechanics. I check that all obelisks are free, and they are free at least visually - all outside, and middle, but the boss doesnt get stunned, due to this, the spit mechanic doesnt reset, i get oneshottet soon. What am I missing out, its nearly a year ago I have been last time in vMSA?

    It's a bug at times. One pillar actually had webs on it but wasn't visual. Happens sometimes.

    Actually i guessed something like that later then too, that one is covered and that its a visual bug, since i think...i remember that a year ago, when u rejoin vMSA for last boss as example, one obelisk was free, not two? something like that...i had the feeling i was visually starting with one additional obelisk.

    i know, i farmed nmsa a lot for the skull-event and for cp, and levels and stuff like that.

    but may i criticize a bit? i described quite clearly what i did on this boss and also what happened - and that all obelisks were free, what do i get from mr @SirAndy "read the turoial". like wtf. did he get his 10 stars like this? man. bro. guy. srsly.

    The little spider ladies that look like mini version of the boss do the spit that dots you and kills. Not the spiders that web the obelisk. You can beat it without getting all the obelisk to light up, though it is difficult. I could never get all the hoarvers right.

    You have to kill hoarvers near the obelisk or throw their poison sack thing at them to light up. Once their all lit, it subdues everything in the area a for a few seconds

    I’m no VMA master or anything, but I had problems with this the other day. It was more the little mini spider lady spitting poison that I had to kill to beat it.

    I couldn’t get all the lights clear so I was running around from the swarms and it wasn’t pretty, but can be done.

    Now I’m working back through 7th round and it blows. The masters make it look easy. It is not easy. Once I get a bow, I’m so done with this place.

    but it hasnt anything to do with my question, and i dont know why u tell me stuff i already know, i mean...u could guess from the texts here, that i am already familiar with base mechanics of the stage and u could even guess from the pic, that i know how to clear the obelisks from the webs. i mean, maybe u are not doing it on purpose, same as sir andy, but u make me feel like a total ***.

    i said i get onehitted by the spit mechanic because there is no stun effect after clearing all obelisks, which resets the onehit-mechanic. u start to explain to me, that i have to kill the spider add of the boss, and i am not talking about a dot, i am talking about a onehit. its a mechanic which occurs if u do not stun, and i dont remember it quite well, but i am sure i got that onehit also without the small spider around (since i tend to kill them fast).

    and yes, over a year ago, when overload-sorc on eleganze and tbc was great, i managed also to ignore that stuff mainly because i just went overload bananas on boss - but at the moment it doesnt work for me on my mag dk - so well.

    as u can see, u are starting to explain me bossmechanic of a stage, i am through a couple of times, and also last night (most funny u explain me how to free obelisks from webs), while u can see, that i am referring and reporting a visual bug in that stage.

    i mean, even sir andys answer was more usefull, since i could check via guide, that i am doing everything right as it should be.
    Boss: I hate this fight. Not because it is hard. But because it is full of RNG deaths. The whole key to this fight is that the boss will enrage and just insta-kill you every 150 seconds you do not stun her by clearing all the obelisks. [I am told throwing a horvor poison grenade at her will reset the timer. I cannot confirm this but if you know you are way behind clearing the oblisks it’s worth a shot]. Nothing is more important than killing webspinners. Nothing else is more important than killing horvers next to the obelisks. Note: you can interact with the grenade and throw it at a webbed obelisk, but a high damaging AOE will spawn under your defenseless character making this something best avoided. If you miss more than 1 webspinner/horver, you WILL LOSE and there is nothing you can do about it.

    As for the monsters, the biggest danger is the unavoidable and unkiteable 7K spits the boss and the little spider add hits you with. You just have to mitigate through it. This is extremely resource intensive and it is almost mandatory that you heal and dps at the same time. The little spider add snares you so it has to be killed quickly, but do *not* miss any horvor/webspinners while doing so. Webspinners spawn about every 10 seconds after you kill them so you must remain vigilant. The boss has a large ground AOE that does 25K damage. She will use it while you are standing in the only safe spot when the spider swarm appears and that's why children under 13 should not watch you try to do this fight. It will take you a while to get accustomed to the fight so that you can consistently clear all 5 obelisks and stun the boss.

    After you stun the boss, you have to repeat this process all over, with two twists. What kills me the most is that a spider swarm will appear about 10 seconds after the stun: you will only have 1 clear obelisk and of course a webspinner will appear. You must kill the spinner and kill a horvor near a webbed obelisk to ensure you have two clear spots for the safety zone to spawn. It isn't easy because ... a lurcher will probably spawn while you are trying to do this. If you can get past that swarm, at this point you just got to get rid of that lurcher *and not miss any webspinners*. This is hard to do, I make sure I have the haste + defensive sigal active before the boss stun wears away because you will need the speed and a break from the 7K spits. Once you get that lurcher down, it's just a matter of not missing any webspinners/horvors. You cannot miss more than 1 while doing all that because of the YOU LOSE mechanic.

    Sometimes there's a visual bug that makes the webs disappear, so the boss looks as if he's ready to be stunned, but it does not since the obelisks are really still webbed. I screwed up a few runs like that. Unfortunately the only solution is to exit the arena by respawning at the shrine, or, if this doesn't fix it, restarting your client. If you're quick enough with the relog you won't be kicked out and still get a score at the end.

    The smaller spider that looks like the boss (not the one that pops and webs the obelisks) puts a snare on you that makes it difficult to reach the lighted ones and escape the swarming spiders. The more webs it throws on you, the stronger the snare becomes. So you should kill it ASAP. The most efficient way is actually to drag the boss over it and burn them in the same AoE (depends on build/class). Even better is that you pull them over a webbed obelisk, and kite the hoarvor onto all 3, burst it, free the obelisk and debuff both the boss and the add so they take more damage. Super fast way to do this is to keep a single obelisk covered during the previous rounds, then drag the boss over the one still webbed with the add, kite the hoarvor, burst, then burn with ult right into execute phase and kill just after the stun expires. But you'll need good DPS to do this.

    Okay maybe try letting one of the regular spiders cover up an obelisk and then go kill a hoarvers next to it to light it up.

    I only say getting them to all light up isn’t entirely necessary because I couldn’t do it either and beat the level anyways. If you knew how bad I was in there...this isn’t about me being super good or anything.

    The poison dot from the little spider and the big ground AOE that spawns around boss we’re the only one shot I had to deal with.

    Kill the little spider. Get out of the big circle that grows under the boss.

    I was simply providing a link to a pretty thorough write-up on the vMA stages and on how to approach that particular boss.

    Sry, but reading cant be so hard. how can people think they need to provide me a tutorial link, when the main line says clearly:
    "all obelisks are free, no stun". i mean even someone was that smart starting to explain me how to free the obelisk from the webs - i mean did the first question and also the pic sound like i dont know how to free the obelisks from webs? did the first entry even sound to u like i wouldnt know the base mechanics of that stage. cmon. thats so easy. u just need to read and understand and not just throw random stuff in a thread. but whatever - this would be a different topic: reading and understanding texts in english eso forum. -.-'

    Would like to know what else people encounter besides invisible trolls, solkyn channeling 5meters above ground (uninteruptable), oh or the bug where no spectral clanfear spawns after voriak solkyn goes up...

    i already made it.
    u mean a general one? just make one, if u feel there is need for it. i just made one for this bug as bug report in the category here.

    vMA has been bugged in multiple places since launch. But bugs tend to fade and resurface during subsequent patches, after they have allegedly been fixed. During the event people are more likely to complain about them since more are playing it, and also the extra strain on the server may make them appear more frequently.

    This is an annoying bug, and has a chance of happening each time you die. If you are struggling (i.e. dying a lot) then quitting/relogging each death gets very time consuming.

    Alternately, you can try to remember which ones have been unwebbed. If you die, only the middle pillar is unwebbed (and its always the middle one). You get a hoarver before the boss, so I will kill it next to one of the visually bugged pillars. If you're lucky then the other pillars don't have the visual bug. If not, then try to unweb your way around the room in a single direction (clockwise).

    If a pillar gets re-webbed then the visual effect is usually not-bugged.

    Also, if you die then you get a hoarver (kill on exterior pillar), then a re-web spider will spawn in the center (it's always the center) and then you'll get another hoarver. If you focus on these mechanics right away you'll have 3/5 pillars unwebbed, so it's just 2 you'll need to be aware of.

    Thanks for explaining. Yeh i know meanwhile what spawns where. Actually i was first time with Mag DK there, in the past did it mainly with a Sorc a year ago, so my ressources weren't top - it took me till final stage to find the perfect combination of health and magicka regeneration for me, also the way i did some stuff back then wasnt the way i could do it now. Back then - glory to the overload sorc - I could just nuke some bosses without caring for all mechanics. Actually i died in the last round of stage 6 and then it happened.... It took me a while to recognize why there was no stun. It really made me rage a bit that night, since i was getting that easy till that stage without a lot of deaths (which were mainly caused by ressource management) and this stage then was completely crushing my confidence. x)

    Dying that lot that moment while that bug happened, reloggig and retrying made me remember the spawns quite good (lol), but it took me also a while to recognize that its a visual bug. I also start to remember it only was the middle pillar free - which is obvious now that u say - since the webbing spider first always spawns in the middle. After i relogged and the bug was away, i made it first try. Still my feeling and knowledge of the where-spawns-what and orientation is still a bit lacking. I know what kind of different round bosses and which adds spawns in general, but my orientation in some stages is bad still and the knowledge where exactly in a stage that stuff i have to focus spawns need sto be improved.
