I know what you are saying but I feel like your analogies don't back up your point (IMO).

Penalty kicks are due to a foul. Cause and effect due to poor behavior. In a shoot out in case of a decider, both teams get equal number of attempts. It's not one sided.

As for NB, except maybe for heavy armor brawler NBs, they (usually) can not face tank a stand your ground class.
Instead of 28k+ resists via armor and high health, they get dmg mitigation via cloak (which has it's own counters and bugs).
I have 2 non nb pvp toons too and I get the frustration of fighting someone who vanishes on you, but having NBs I also know the frustration of being caught and disintegrated when caught out.

You are correct though, I need to get over my internal 'honor code' for lack of a better term, because most ppl just want to take the path of least resistance with the least danger to themselves. I rather lose a close fight than just 'delete' someone cos I drained their resources via poison and have a bunch of sets proc (except snipers, those are ok to be annihilated haha), but a good chunk of ppl don't. As demonstrated by the epidemic spread of Sloads pre nerf or any broken set combos that pop up now n then.

For example I was in a BG and it was super one sided. Even though we were a pug (well i solo queued), we wiped them in TDM with both other teams around 100. The other guys on my team were loving it, when I mentioned I hoped for a bit more of a fight, they were a bit confused. Waltzing into a team of what must have been a bunch of newbies just trying to get their daily and taking out 2 or 3 on my own and walking away with little dmg taken, didn't feel like much of a victory. I felt bad and hoped I didn't make them never pvp again.

Poisons, immovable pots etc... are available to everyone. Its rock paper scissors on builds. The whole concept of "cheating" by using whats available will only cause frustration for yourself. Use whats best until its nerfed and then something else will be "Op" and get the same complaints. (Exception of tournaments which clearly agree on rules).

People in bgs should have no expectation to win. Only to try everything they can to win. I only feel bad for low level pve in cyrodiil obviously fishing or questing that get killed.

I have or had video proof

Alteration most definitely reduces block cost

I have tested both, unless something was changed not mentioned in patch notes recently
