Speaking of VMA, I have still yet to receive a sharpened lightning staff or sharpened or precise inferno staff. Between 500 and 700 clears. Possibly more than 700. I don’t known I have lost count.

You may have introduced a re-trait system which is nice somewhat (50 damn crystals is far too many btw), but you still have yet to learn the basics of “smart loot” in any kind.

I have both the greatsword infused, and the maul infused. Got them back after back, and I don’t even PvP. So, they’ll be sitting in my bank collecting dust with my collection of Maelstrom two-handers. ._.

That being said, what would keep you coming back and playing for hours if:

• Loot was smart as you say (smart = what you want, quick).
• Changing traits were cheap.

You should really read a book about the basics of game designing and players retention.

Why do you guys think 50 crystals are too many? Have read that a few times now but I actually think it's quite cheap (not to say ridiculously cheap). The effort and time it takes to get 50 crystals is a joke compared to the number of runs you need on average to get the right trait on the right weapon (153 to keep it simple). Especially for people who literally need hours for one run.

Also you get crystals just by playing the regular daily/weekly content so eventually you will have enough to transmute. With vMA you might very well never get the weapon you want. Sure, a smart loot system would be nice but actually it's not really needed anymore now. I assume this was just easier to program and balance.

50 crystals is sooo harrrrdddd, it takes months. (Shhh say it’s hard or zos will nerf the drop rate).

So when can I turn my ice Staff into a lightning one with these 50 crystals? Your post completely missed the point. But at least you insulted another player, that way your post passes 50% of the prerequisites for any forum post on here.

How easy exactly should it be to get BiS gear you think? Maybe NPC vendors should offer them for the symbolic amount of 1 gold or something?

That’s exactly the point. RNG has nothing to do with difficulty.

Honestly smart loot has nothing to do with the OP's problem. Now if you were complaining about fire staves of the eternal youkudan or Bows of Burning spellweave that would be a different story all together. What OP wants is a token system in order to put a cap on the amount of runs needed to insure that you get a particular item.

At this point, I’m not even phased by these types of people on the Internet. Keyboard thugs who will go out of their way to attempt to belittle folks over the Internet already have miserable existences as is, so why feed them by acknowledging them? That's not my point though. We were talking about crystals and how 50 are still too many for some. And for the difficulty matter: I do actually think it's quite difficult to motivate yourself to run the same content over and over to get your stuff. Not saying it's fun but it's certainly difficult imho. Now you have to run it less thanks to the crystals (9 times less!). While I appreciate that, I do not think that one vMA run should be enough to get your BiS weapon (which would be the case if you could transmute weapon types). It still takes some dedication and I think it should.

I've only had the chance to run it 6 or 7 times, but I have only seen the Asylum one hand sword and mace.
I play Magicka sorcerer and need the lightning staff....

The groups I've been with I have offered to trade freely. However, I've seen the staff drop twice and had those two players turn around and try to sell me the staff for a crazy amount of gold. One of those guys I had just given the sword to for free...he or she then asked for a ton of gold for the staff. That's thier right, I guess....but people, eh?

Umm... That’s fantastic. Keep up the good work. For others however (like myself), it takes a bit longer. Especially with PvP being the current mess it is (even though I’m not too much of a PvP’er, I planned on using it to farm crystals).

Umm... That’s fantastic. Keep up the good work. For others however (like myself), it takes a bit longer. Especially with PvP being the current mess it is (even though I’m not too much of a PvP’er, I planned on using it to farm crystals).

I also didn't like the whining post (#5) but now you're overdoing it.

Pvp is how I got mine mate. Got the first rewards of the worthy on 1 character then logged on and did it on the next(all my characters are pve) I just did it by capturing resources and joining zergs capping keeps.
I get what you mean though I had lots of infinite load screens and had to relog/delete saved data on my Xbox but it is doable.
