"Such is the nature of evil. Out there in the vast ignorance of the world, it festers and spreads. A shadow that grows in the dark. A sleepless malice as black as the oncoming wall of night. So it ever was, so will it always be. In time all foul things come forth." -Thranduil

Because their content roadmap is way too aggressive and unrealistic for the size of their development and quality shop.

They can't meet release deadlines, sales targets and quality goals, so they have to hope for 2 of the 3. Guess which 2 get prioritized? Hint - they never miss a go-live timeline or a crown store showcase anymore.

Probably because they know how loud the complaints would be on here if they did  !

In my view the problem is more down to the fact that there isn't a PTS for the console versions.

Then again, if a new PvE zone like CWC is available on a PTS, how many testers are going to be PvPing in Cyrodiil to see if it has any impact on that?

Maybe whoever is in charge should like, hire some more people. Just a thought. Makes me sick to think about how much money is spend on those crates and they can't even get enough help to make the game run smoothly. Sad. Give them some more resources and see if the game is salvageable.

But that's not how the standard American business model works. The Board directs them to make profit at the lowest possible cost. Making crap is low profit, making halfway decent is usually more profitable than crap. Making something actually good costs much more than making something halfway decent, but the profit increase almost never corresponds with the cost increase of improved quality.

Unless you are in an industry where lives are on the line, the decision will almost always be lower quality for higher profit, Zeni's showrunners are no different. And after running a company into the ground, they simply move onto the next investment.

Not if people start to dump their product (ESO plus). I am not blaming the model of business here which is to derive profits. Rather I am blaming the mindset that allows them to operate in a place where they do not lose customers based on their performance and product quality. This falls on us because we are hardcore enough into the game to pay $15 per month while also not being fed up enough with the issues to cancel our sub. I guess for me, I still enjoy the game enough to keep the sub even though all the problems because certain content is stimulating when it works. That being said I can start to feel my drive to do certain things in the game start to drop. Can imagine others are like this and when the game is near un-playable like it is right now. They can keep this up for now but every time there's a new issue like this to compound on issues that haven't been addressed going on years, it drives just a few more people away. Eventually I feel I will get to that point.

I disagree. Of course coding errors exist and may lead to serious bugs, but coding new stuff should not break existing skills and areas. Modern software craftmanship and the clean code principles describe how to separate different "areas" of code and isolate specific responsibilities. Especially in very large software projects such principles should be used to avoid the issues we often see with every release here. There must be reasons inside ZOS why they obviously don't follow such guidelines or if they try, why they fail to see the benefits of modern coding principles.

Not to pick a fight but this hardly how the American business model works. I have been running companies for over 25 years and I have never seen a company who doesn't want to put the best product out there. Your business would never get off the ground with that mindset. Unfortunately ever business has a budget and its always lower than what you would like to have.

With all that said, I do love this game and it is frustrating with all the bugs and issues but I can guarantee you the company is not content with putting out a sub par product. That's my two cents anyway.

If you want to ensure you don't get an "infinite" load screen in cyrodiil, the solution has been in the game since it's inception, simply ride or run instead of using transitus

    Don't die either! :p
It would help if people weren't so cheap and actually rezzed players so they didn't have to get a load screen respawning.

I'm pretty sure the compiler would catch an out of place ) as that would be a syntax error.

The bugs in question are logical errors, not syntax errors ...

Are you a software developer? No..ok go try it and return when you create a patch that goes out to millions of clients, with 100s of thousands different setups, using different versions of OS and hardware drivers, and you don't discover or create a new bug or issue.

It's pretty much statistically impossible to do.

Well that couldn't be further from the truth. Every update in WoW breaks something else, or has an expected change somewhere else. Every security patch for Microsoft opens up new security holes, it's a never ending process.

While it is aggressive what would happen if they didn't release content as often as they do. Then people would complain there isn't enough content getting released

This issue is not the kind of bug that manifests itself due to million to one chances which would then have a good chance of getting past QA, it's so ridiculously simple to instigate, just jump to a keep in Cyrodiil, or a forward camp or just get killed and try to respawn anywhere.. You know.... the very basics of what should have been tested before release seeing as these are the most commonly used functions in Cyrodiil..
