2h Stam DK?

Is there a viable 2h stam DK build for pve vet dungeons? I don't do trials, maybe someday. I just love 2h and they seem to have a good skill line but I feel like I'm losing damage because of the one less gear piece compared to DW

It honestly isn't just the set peice missing; it is that DW has better skills for both trash mobs, and single target.

For dungeons I use it; No one complains. Those who diss it probably aren't aware of the awesomeness of reverse slice. Steel tornado is a piece of trash compared to reverse slice.

This, combo’d with brawler for the shield...isn’t bad for trash mobs in dungeons.

It works, its just a matter of tinkering with sets.

My stam toons are a stam medium armor dk using 2h and bow

    &

A stamden who does bow bow or bow / dw depending on what im doing. Dont listen to nay sayers, they just arent creative.

U can get away with 2h/bow and do decent enough dps, that being said ur assumptions were right and u will do more dps if ur dw/bow.

    It's doable

The only issue is that on a DK it works better to just stack dots, which dual weild does better.

As far as dungeon performance, I ran my 2h/bow stam sorc through it's first vet dungeon last night and that worked out fine.
Dps wasn't fantastic, but given the lack of a maelstrom bow, caltrops and trap beast, I'd say it was alright.

I play a character called "Gives Me Wood Elf" because I am a mature and sensible person.

To answer the question about builds, just go 5pc hundings and 5pc other damage set. Or swap out the other damage set for 3pc agl plus 2pc monster. Weapons are of course vma bow and asylum axe/greatsword. 2h may not benchmark as well against a dummy, but in real world dropping an ulti every mob pack and splash damage from reverse slice is amazing for dps. Plus, every tough dungeon fight (where you need high dps) involves adds that just melt away to your splash damage.

Why not? Sometimes I run vet dungeons with my lightning staff/bow hybrid NB and I can achieve 30k ST (buffed) what is completly enough :)

Veteran dungeons doesn't want min-max build from you, play whatever you like till stuff dies and you don't pull your team down.

My favourite charecter is my stam dk, the lady is an absolute beast. Yes other builds do more damage, but this one got a *** like me through MoL and a bunch of vet dungeons without complaint. In most pug groups as a tank she leaves a lot of dps standing, the bow brigade get just plain left behind. Mind you it does take a lot of practice. Basically it’s five heavy, one medium and one light with tri stal food. Buff with momentum and igneous weapons. Two handed paired with sword and shield. Hundings rage and four piece dreugh king slayer with valkin skoria and a five piece plague doctor in the bag if she needs to be more of a pure tank.

Main thing is crit, fire, full heavy attacks and sheer weapon damage, you are not gonna run out of juice

I use dizzying swing to knock em out of their boots, yes I know wrecking blow is “optimal” whatever the hell that is but mostly because it just looks so dam cool, followed by a full heavy them reverse slice, the mobs just melt. I’ll take it over dual wield any day even if I have to give up a five piece bonus. It’s just looks so good, knocking enemies through the air, flames everywhere, the meaty crunch of those wonderful two handed sword sound effects, the crunch of impacts, throw in the healing version of that claw effect thing and then those immobilising claws, poison fire, and things like leap for sheer coolness. In dungeons leap gets replaced with standard of might but the two handed always has flawless dawn breaker.

Between the sounds and the visuals I would take this build over anything in the game, it’s just so cinematic
