I was an argonian in Skyrim, it was so fun .

They are potentially very good tanks and healers as the passive that restores additional resources when using potions can be very potent. However it's kind of a love it or hate it thing. I hate it.^^

For Argonian there is no "wrong" class combo. You have potion passive that makes your resource management super easy (especially after Morrowind update).
The only thing you need to remember is that you will probably never be "BIS" min-maxer DPS. On the other hand you will be slightly more "tanky" - and it is also usefully in all content (PvE Vet dungeons / trials and PvP Cyrodiil).

As for the choices:
1. class - NB, Templar, Warden (not sure about DK & sorc - but as I said - there is no wrong choice here)
2. role - Healer or Tank. DPS is also ok-ish - but you will be never able to be "BIS" min-max DPS.
3. magicka or stamina? - For healer - magicka, for Tank - stamina. You might also try some hybrid stam-magicka tank - because of your good recourse management.

Tanks - Any Class. Healer Warden or Templar. DK Tank Argonians are very common end game tanks. Warden Argonian Healers synergies very well, the racial and the class passive. Works great for dungeons and as 2nd healer in Trials.

As others have said, they're amazing healers and tanks. They're especially strong in those roles in PVP, due to the potion passive. In PVE, my Warden healer usually doesn't run out of stamina, but she does in Cyrodiil. It's nice to pop a health or spell damage potion and have all my stats increase. Tripots? Who needs em?! I love my Argonian DK tank as well. Her theme song would be Stayin' Alive, because it feels sometime like I would literally have to fall asleep mid-game for her to die. Also, how freaking cool is it to use Take Flight as an Argonian?

I have two argonians:

Mag NB, self-healing siphon tank. My best toon for soloing group content. He's almost impossible to kill in PvE environments, and grinds down bosses quicker than the Temp/Sorc/DK builds I have tried using.

Stam DK poison knight. She's just a quester, but very good for passive RP. She channels the swamp. Uses every poison damage skill I could find. I put Swamp Raider on her, and trigger the 5 piece bonus using Velidreth and Stone Giant (which also covers her in mud). Lots of fun.

Argonian Tanks/Healers used to give me fits trying to kill them in Cyrodiil. After awhile when I saw a certain Pact Argonian in a wedding dress I just went somewhere else. Harder to kill than Godzilla and more lives than Telel.

The potion passive is awesome. I have an Argonian tank and it is much fun to play. Haven't put it into PVP as I only play AD faction. I haven't found a market for Argonian bites but if anyone wants one it is only 3 gold.

Magic seems to work for the healer side

I generally make mule/crafting alts who I MIGHT play months later, after I've leveled up their riding skills.

I recently made an Argonian warden, on the theory that down the road I could use him a either a healer or a tank.

I don't know. I'm a fan of Khajiit or Bosmer nightblades, buffed to the max with either health/stam restoration or else sneakiness for stealing soul gems from under the nose of Nosebreaker in Belkarth.

I have one of every class.....they all work well, just have to tweak your builds to make them work for you.....
