Cool. But probably ESO unrelated. Mobile Games are a hot market and it just keeps growing so. Good for them.

Perhaps, but it does say Zenimax Online Studios for the division and the only thing they have developed is ESO.

Many years ago Ragnarok Online had a mobile game where you could transfer zeny (gold) you made in the mobile game to the main game once a week, although it was a limited amount to prevent abuse. That was a fun way to make some extra currency on the go. There are at least a couple other games where you can transfer something from a mobile game related to it. It would be cool to see something like for ESO.

Wow... it specifically asks for fans of elder scrolls, wolfenstien and Fallout...

So I have 2 things to say from under my tin-foil hat.
    1) Zos have been making a team to work on a new mobile 'cross platform game'. Here is a post about previous jobs they have advertised https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/357309/probably-a-mobile-app-so-f-king-excited#latest

    2) CWC looks like a reskinned fallout game. There have been rumours for years that ZOS is developing fallout online. I was reminded of this as I wandered through the new DLC, passing through clockwork caverns that look like vault tec vaults to get to a wasteland like desert.

I don't particularly believe that Zenimax media would let ZOS make another MMO, I don't think ZOS has done as well as people expected, but clearly they are working on something.

If anyone is not familiar with the rumours of ZOS and fallout online....

Fallout online was in development by Masthead studios/interplay since 2006 until Bethseda started a series of legal challenges to stop development (my favourite is that bethseda said they had only given the rights to the name Fallout, and not any of the post-apocalyptic rpg concepts associated). Zenimax media (the parent company) acquired the rights to the fallout franchise in 2007, a couple of months before they created Zenimax Online Studies (our beloved ZOS). Even during the court battles it was speculated that Zos was started to make fallout online.

To put this in context, Interplay sold the Fallout IP to Bethesda around that time. Interplay had been on the skids since around 2000 or 2001, and by that point they were simply selling off their remaining IPs. They didn't even have the money to actually make games anymore.

Masthead was commissioned by Interplay to develop a Fallout MMO, before they sold the rights, and there were specific deadlines that Masthead had to meet in order for Interplay to retain the rights to the MMO. The big thing is, Interplay did not secure funding in time, at all. And as a result, Masthead had not transitioned from pre-production on schedule. Meaning, under the terms of the sale, they'd forfeited the rights to make the MMO. Except, they refused to stop.

Combine this with Interplay pumping out repackaged versions of the original games in 2008 or 2009 with, intentionally, deceptive names, in order to attempt to pull down some of that Fallout 3 money, (specifically renaming the, "Classic Fallout Pack," as the "Fallout Trilogy Pack" after FO3 hit big.)

And, it shouldn't be surprising that a court case followed.

Anyway, probably some new mobile title. It may be ESO related, it might not be. I kinda doubt we'll be seeing a mobile app integration for ESO, given how BGS abandoned the one for Fallout 4, but you never know.

say what? theyve sold over 10 million copies of the game, rake in millions from the crown store, merchandise like pops and statues (every single one is sold out) and Lord knows they can have my money

Like, why make these kinds of statements? when you run around the game - its crowded and you see new accounts all the time. Like, you think the PvP forums are indicative of the ESO population? there's tonnes of PvPers too, tonnes of PvP guilds that you dont hear of because they dont gallivant on the forums.

    Forums =/= ESO Population

Maybe for Elder Scrolls Legends to go mobile friendly? Only reason I haven't played it is because I can't get it on my phone, to be honest.

I thought it was out on Apple and Android. I tried it on android, but I'm not a fan of card games. But staying on topic, it has a different developer so these jobs likely won't have anything to do with TES:legends

Dire Wolf Digital made ES:Legends, not Zenimax Online Studios, and legends has already been released on the mobile platform.

People.... Zenimax Media is the big media company owns the smaller studios like Bethesda Softworks, ID Software, and Zenimax Online Studios. It's a bit confusing but the fact that this posting specifically names ZOS and not just Zenimax points to this being a ESO specific mobile app. Even the news article that I got the link from couldn't get a handle on this, it kept talking about how this could be a Skyrim mobile version or even Doom or Fallout related. If the fact that it says Zenimax Online Studios isn't enough, it also says the job is at the ZOS studios in Hunt Valley , MD, USA.

I am surprised there is confusion about what game is getting a mobile app. I highly doubt ZOS would develop any other products until ESO is dead. My guess is that a Fallout MMO would be made under a new studio focused only on that, called something like Bethesda Online Studios, for example.

I don't know, maybe I'm wrong but all indications I see point to this being an ESO mobile app.

Alright I've got no tin-foil theories, but I doubt it's an ESO app.
Why give ESO an app when only ESO fans would use it? I'd think it was more profitable to attract new users to a new app.
Besides, Legends already does some ESO related promotions here and there. Look at them releasing Clockwork City right now to coincide with ours? And the ESO wolf code with that one purchase pack.

When I saw this I was so excited! I thought finally customer support on phone again, even if it is just one person taking the calls with wait times of 3 1/2 years, it would still be something.

Well I'm still having a hard time believing the ESO app thing but that's an interesting theory :D or an app for in-game live support? Didn't they do that for a little while or is my memory failing me? I rarely have had to actually poke Support for things...

Those fans also purchase crowns and subscribe monthly. If a mobile app keeps players playing the game longer then its worth investing in. Even if its just a mobile crown store and nothing else it would increase profits.

Tiny nitpick there. Zenimax is the holding company. Bethesda Softworks is the publisher. Bethesda Game Studios is the studio.

i think it hit in June. i had to take it off my tablet because it destroyed my battery life, even when it was closed, but it was fun and i'm ready to give the app another shot. i hope it's better
