The art department is always pretty awesome but this one is just great.

Agreed, I liked this one as well.. you can just see visually a story being told. The other new one I like is what looks like a petrified dragon head rising up from a cavern floor.. or maybe its a statue/shrine of some sort not sure.

That dragon shrine is actually a location within the game already. I think it's one of the last locations in the Dark Brotherhood main quest line where you fight the final "boss", but I'm not 100% sure.

Yeah, I had a WOW moment when I first saw this one too. It really draws the eye in to the warmth of the fireplace glow, and you're right there with them, sharing stories of a battle won. Great job by the artist. And, I have to add, its so nice to see such a positive post.

The Art Team is one of the very best, as is the Storyline team. Both really stand out, and I wish the rest of the teams were in their league. Imagine the game we would play...

Yes, it was a great session on ESO live. The whole discussion about the creative process was very interesting. I love the many details in that picture like the triangular chess board paying homage to the three factions.

it looks like extremely overdone art from an 80's rpg book, the faces look so overly happy its actually scary. Great for an rp section but i hope its not a trend in loading screens

To me, the man telling the story looks like the Nord version of Narsis Dren. And all those dead animals he's wearing! I hate him already.

I do find his footwear intriguing. Ug boots combined with "puttees, anti-snake"? LOL.

It is a beautifully executed work though, no doubt about it

lol you know, on my side, when i saw this screen i laughed, i was looking at the Kahjit, huge lion, with his big chunk of meat in his hands, and look at how he's looking at the dog... expecting his next meal? Cat vs Dogs revenge time? :P

Thanks, all! You're correct that the artist who did this piece was Lucas Slominski. Not only was he on ESO Live earlier this year (you can skip to the one hour mark to see his segment) but we also did a Q&A with him on another one of his pieces!

Yeah you can rant about Zenimax all you like, but the effort they put into their artwork and design is really fantastic. I'm amazed with every new DLC and zone about its complexity and their attention to detail.

Not quite the final boss, but yes, it's a scenic from Dark Brotherhood. We've been getting a bunch of DB login screens since Clockwork City dropped. I'm not sure why, but it's kind of refreshing, especially now that I've done the DB DLC and actually recognize what I'm looking at. I don't even remember some of them from when DB was actually the current thing.

Nice art is nice.

Wish they added new loading screens to Cyrodiil... have to look at that 1 way too often as it is... and since they are incapable of fixing the infinite loading screen bug, some new graphics at least would be something.

That’s 1 thing about this game that I can always speak positive on. The art team really does an amazing job on whatever it is they touch (disregarding Daedric and Glass motifs).

Now if only the combat team would take queues on how to perform well on a consistent basis like the art team... >_>
