Innate Axiom bugged

Innate Axiom:


This set is not buffing Power Lash (nor, I believe, does it buff Assassins Will). It only buffs the original skill.

The tooltips for Sun + Innate:


Removing one piece of Innate. Note the Power Lash tooltip only drops by less than 100, which can be explained by the loss of magicka:


So to isolate the test results, I did damage to a test dummy first wearing only Innate Axiom 5 piece:


I then removed one piece of Innate and replaced it with a random piece with the same quality/enchant to normalize magicka:


Note lack of difference in damage for the power lash, even though the initial whip has increased damage. This will also have the effect of reducing the healing from Power Lash.

Good catches! I'm willing to bet any skill with a specific condition might not be buffed by the set; maybe the way those skills are coded versus more straight up DPS skills.

Well it might be intended, I guess. Just to verify, I confirmed Sun buffs Power Lash, and War Maiden buffs Assassin's Will, so it feels like a set bug.

i noticed this a little too late, went off and crafted innate axiom and now my main burst skill is missing 400 spell damage. but i doubt its intended, these are class skills obviously as the set says. going with this trend its probably the same for the special portion of damage skills on other classes ie crystal frags and what not, ill have to check that later

I just crafted Innate Axiom for my Warden, and this explains why my calculations aren't matching CombatMetrics.

Dang. You beat me to it! I just did a slightly more extensive test and posted it. Not only does it not buff some secondary aspects of abilities- but it completely ignores Draw Essence. I found no buff whatsoever to it.

I can also test it on Magden, MagPlar, and MagSorc. If it'll draw the Dev's attention.

Yeah, I was really looking forward to trying this set for mDK. I was underwhelmed, so I started digging into why.

Maybe once it's fixed it'll be worth running.

Wish i had seem this thread before crafting it today, my friends said i was crazy because my tooltip AND damage are lower with sun + axiom compared to shackle + desert rose

Also, any spell damage buff doesn't affect pets at all, from another bug report here, or at least very very little. Even the pet active abilities don't change despite them being from the player character mechanically.

This bug where those abilities are not considered class abilities or player character sourced is just dumb.

I haven’t yet, bud. I’m currently deployed-so I’m keeping trackbof the forums via my phone. I’ll let you know, though. But from my understanding- it’s missing out on a lot of secondary damage abilities within skills.
