List of dungeon etiquette

I just posted this but I thought I'd make a thread:

My personal list of dungeon etiquette.

• Say Hi
• Ask if anyone needs quest
• Wait for people that are doing a quest
• Yell "At'avar, WHERE ARE YOU!!" or otherwise joke around to get people talking. Surprisingly, I often end up being the only one talking, but I keep talking until the very end
• Stop and ask if people understand the mechanics of tougher bosses, and provide instructions if necessary
• Que for the role I am competent in
• Vote to kick fake tanks or those otherwise being an [snip]

• If the boss is hard, explain the mechanics.
• Do my job competently.

I'll do mine:

• Say "watch these dps son" and wipe to first pull
• Ignore quest and run ahead (especially on VOM)
• Yell at people who try to quest in my dungeon
• Yell "kick healer pls" when I die. note that if, for example, i forgot to roll in Spindle I, it is directly the healer's fault, not mine
• Vote-kick scrubs below 160CP. vote-kick anyone who insults dps
• KEY: make sure to rush final boss before you do hard mode. NEVER wait for hard mode

Do Your Role is Job 1

1. Ask if anyone needs quest or has done the dungeon before
2. Wait for Questers
3. Call out Heavy Sacks and Chests, preferably after the trash or boss is down
4. Do a food check before you get started
5. Don't run ahead of the group members and engage mobs or boss.

Since I always queue with my RL friends (Tank & Healer) we usually end up picking up a random DPS if no one is available in guilld.

We always joke that if you pull it, you tank it. If you're not the tank, I hope your self-heals are good as the healer won't be healing you. Most of the time, we just say hi and tell him to buckle up and enjoy the free ride.

I did yell Atavar, Where are you? They didn't seem to get it

Can I add please please, wait two seconds for the tank to pull the mobs and bosses? Yes probably you won't die or the healer will arrive in time to save you but it's so so so annoying as a tank!!!

IF I queue as all three roles (normal mode only) I'll add in this;

• Ask if they rely on a healer or if they selfheal
• Ask if they think I should taunt or if 3dd is enough

Make sure you afk at the beginning and most in opportune times
Turn your mic all the way up so we can hear everything
Insist on using discord/TS for normal version runs
Post your dps constantly
Link your gear immediately after posting said dps
Apologize for dying to something you claim wasn't your fault but we all know you don't know the mechanics.
Ask for the mechanics after 2-3 deaths/wipes

Etiquette I try to follow:
1. Say hi at the beginning
2. Let the tank pull everything
3. Do not sprint (unless you absolutely need to)
4. Do trading after the final boss is dead
5. Try the HM at least 3 times before calling it impossible
6. Ress as a DD if possible
7. Do not blame anyone
8. Tell others if it is your first time in the dungeon & tell them if you haven't done the quest
9. If you're unfamiliar with the mechanics: ask and try to avoid the red (unless told otherwise)
10. Thank the group after the run
11. Be polite
12. Give advices when asked

3. Do not take personal if they will kick you.

3 this, simply chest / bag and prehaps drop an aoe, if fighting has started wait until its done.
4 also check others, 11K health is an sure indication, on pc if you have addon you can see buffs, like the 100% xp one.
5 unless you are tank and you should not run to far ahead,

For quest
say you need quest. Do quest in normal dungeon at least if you want to listen to dialogue.
Other might run ahead, they can but don't blame you if they wipe. Again its normal dungeon
you will catch up with them before next boss.

i wish you list did happen in all the group dungeons i join, but ,
in a fake world and fake mmo the list you laid out would be easy to make happen and we would allways see it happen.

Ehhh there are times when I find the constant talking kind of draining; I can't type and play my role, and I don't know of many who can. If people want to hang out in discord I'm usually game, but if I'm doing dungeons it's not for chatter.

• if you queue as a damage dealer, do more than 5k dps.

If you are the tank: look behind you to see if there are 3 other players standing there with weapons ready.
If you are not the tank: wait for the tank to pull.

The rest, I play by ear.

Number one rule: Leave the group with one trash mob to kill while I run ahead. I want the highest kill count.

I run a lot of normal dungeons on a max CP tank, so I'll usually:

1. Ask if anyone needs quest or gear
2. Wait for anyone questing throughout the dungeon and at the end.

Other than that, its all a matter of fulfilling my own role and making sure no one gets left behind.

I never leave people behind unless they are standing still, though cp 660 players I let them do their own think as in most cases they wont listen to instructions even if they needed instruction.

I look at loot and link any decent loot that I dont want at the end
Link all loot from a set that a player has asked for
Wait a minute before exiting unless the group was pure cancer

Don't as soon as you port in ask for certain gear set piece, and then take off and leave everyone else to try and catch up. and we only do when you get killed by a boss. And don't expect to be rezzed either. Yes I left him dead on the floor while the rest of the group killed the boss. And don't continue to ask me to trade for the piece that I may or may not have received.
So really just don't tick off your healer. Lol
