What do you do if someone pulls agro on a world boss and makes the boss wander off and reset?

So I have had this happen more than once to me where someone uses inner fire and has the boss agro'd and pulls them to out of bounds for them and I noticed the boss would reset... get boss to like 31% and see someone randomly run up and use inner fire and run off and have boss follow them to reset... what do you do in this scenario?

When I am boss hunting like that I slot a taunt. Most people don’t want the Aggro they just end up with it then freak out and run, resetting the boss. So I taunt it back to me. No I’m not a tank. Just slot a taunt to stop the dumbos.

Had this problem last year in this event. And then there are a couple world boss dailies where it would pop up. Just grab a taunt a pull it back. I use the one in the undaunted line.

What to do against someone who is doing it on purpose.... report them I guess. Im notnsure it will get you anywhere. Id be really surprised if it did.

Never happened to me. What usually happens is people get hit to 10% health and then they start to run around like a chicken on the dinner menu.

Either way I'd just slot a taunt myself. If I'm Magica I usually have a frost staff handy that I really only use for soloing bosses.

I'd probably just keep hitting the boss tbh.

I do see it being done by accident but I am talking about the people that would agro, run back some and hit agro again to make sure boss is following them and keep doing it to reset boss.

This has happened twice to me at the north western boss for stormhaven... that spider...

No problem with that type of player.
Overland WB is already easy to solo. Just let the boss return to its position and start killing again. No issues there.

Yeah except boss's health would reset from 21% to 100%... it is annoying.

Send rage tells and horrible mails to that player while reporting them for being an idiot. Then continue to send the mails with 1 potato until there mail is full. After that find out what guild they are in talk to GM and have them removed from guild. Also let everyone know in zone chat the players name and not to buy anything from them ever.

Or just move on it’s not a big deal

When leveling an alt i gear them up with frost staff now. But i never have seen anybody taunting for reset. Chickens are the common problem.

I really like the idea of slotting a taunt. during this event my magicka DK (had the most pumpkins from last year) is the one going for the achievement (so I can get the house), and due to lack of time (and assorted 'stuff') I've been doing a lot of 2-manning the lower level undaunted with my spouse's lowbie - he levels, I get skulls we both benefit.

In the course of this, as his character is the more squishy/lower level (Stamplar bosmer) I've been slotting the undaunted taunt, and learning to work with it (minimal personal experience of tanking) and it has worked out surprisingly well.

[edited to actually answer title question]
Oh crap. I would chat in zone explaining what was happening and why it was distressing, maybe offer to group with them so my heals (most of my characters have some kind of sharable healing/shields) could better effect/protect them.

Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.

Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

I guess people don't get what I am talking about... I'm not talking about the people that bite more than can chew. I'm talking about the people that run up to world bosses that you are solo fighting and use stuff like inner fire so that enemy is focused on them and they pull the boss out of bounds of its area, enough distance and the boss resets itself... its hp goes back up to 100%. I can clearly see they are intentionally doing this and will keep trying to camp the spot and when I try to run up to review their name they use a speed boost and run away.

Here's how it works in MMOs:
Step 1: Complain players don't want to interact with you enough
Step 2: Act like a jerk
Step 3: Defend acting like a jerk
Step 4: Go to Step 1

If they aggro the boss by accident cause they're a "lowbie", slot a taunt to get the boss back, and be nice explaining to the newbie what happened. :)

If they do it intentionally, slot a taunt, go find another WB, but report them first for good measure. Griefers should be ignored so they don't get their reward, but also not get away with their cr*p just like that.

Start over, if they do it again then speak with them about trying to run it in circles rather than out of bounds.

If they continue just to troll come back later and get the kill/quest done.

Sound weird, sure it was not some fool who got random agro and tried to run away from boss.
Its an old random normal dungeon classic, player get agro from some mini boss then run away from tank and healer and typically into more mobs
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

No I can tell the difference between some random and some person trying to reset a boss. Like I have done all the world bosses and only reason I was there was because I felt like a bit of a change up.

I've only seen it happen to me when I was by myself so if I had to figure if it is more than one person at it I highly doubt it is possible. I would highly suggest against doing this to your fellow players as it is not cool and not something you would want either I presume, right?
