I haven't even gotten the quest yet. Yeah, I sub so it's "free", but the housing is crowns only, more motifs that will take forever to grind. I assume there are housing patterns, but I'm still trying to grind Vvardenfell plans 6 months later. New quests are kinda cool, but I'm still bummed from the expansion, and really can't work up any excitement over another tedious grind that I'm not rich enough to make go away.

I'm really feeling that ZOS only wants rich players, and that even if you sub it's not enough for them. The feeling that I'm too poor to get anything cool in the game doesn't really make me want to play.

I'm sure everyone will come in here and tell me to just leave, but ESO is one of the few things I can keep up with. I'm no longer working because of my chronic illnesses, I just need to vent that the one thing I look forward to doing isn't fun anymore.

You don't HAVE to grind, you know. Either enjoy it for what it is or play something else for a while. The main quest is quite good imo.

Well, my main "fun" in the game is housing and crafting. Soooo yeah, I can just leave then. Thanks for helping me step out.

Just play at your pace and be happy there is more "something/content" waiting for you? Sounds like a great place to be in unless you are not really enjoying it.

Never been excited for any DLC on this, it’s all just a new area to grind in so rather stick with base game.

I'm also unexcited but simply because I do not care for Dunmer culture or their gods. It feels like more of the same from Morrowind, not to mention the motif grind... luckily I should be able to buy motifs from other players, since that's my one gold sink. I spent 3 months building enough gold to spend on motifs when new ones are introduced, essentially, because I hate the rng of chapters.

For now, I will ignore this DLC. Then when the first wave of people have moved on, I will do the quests at a leisurely pace without 50+ other players in the same delve.

Well I was thinking about being overwhelmed with stuff to collect and do to try and keep up. I am really a completionist but I have realized I wont be able to have everything complete before new stuff comea in. I think I would rather it be this way then the second new stuff comes in I complete it within days and have to wait for more. Try not to be so I have to do this grind now, and more like go enjoy the experience do what you feel like doing that day.

I imagine it is hard to make meaningful content for an mmo. You can spend a ton of time making something and people plow it down in a week or 2 and then the cries of what is next start. So while grinding isn’t optimal it slowly makes it into every mmo even if it wasn’t there at the start as a way to slow the player down.

It is sort of funny, over the life span of most mmos, leveling gets faster and everything else gets slower. As more and more grinds are introduced. Remember when Motifs were just one book?

The base game was fantastic content length wise. But these little 10-15 hour long content drops just aren’t enough for me. As you said it ends up feeling like they just add stuff for the grind and the cash shop.

I am in for any new content. ESO adding it pretty slowly and not always lucky with additions. So the more is the merrier.

So, my pace would mean my Vvardenfell homes are decorated fully, not still sitting empty because I can't find furniture patterns.

I still need to grind motifs for alts, took 3 months to get all the ones for my main crafter.

So ZOS doesn't let me play at my pace, until I can afford however many crown crates it takes to get a BA motif. Still haven't found a single page since HOTR dropped.

I'd add my agreement to the advice just to play the game for what you enjoy and without feeling any pressure to do the things you don't enjoy.

While I can understand some people being upset at having to pay extra for Morrowind, now they do get a free DLC with their subscription it seems rather contradictory getting upset about that too.

I'm looking forward to doing this DLC but I'm in no hurry as I've plenty of other things in the game to do as well. As for the DLCs being too short to complete, I guess that rather depends on how many characters you complete them with  !

then take a breather and enjoy collecting those. If during your house item grinding you fancy some clockwork city questing, it's there. Otherwise just do what you enjoy and when you no longer enjoy it, move on.

No thanks. What I want is to be able to furnish my Vvardenfell homes.

I'm excited for CWC but I'm also just going to do what I always do... Wait to play it for a couple months after release. There's plenty of other things for me to work on and I don't like all the crowds. I've done it for every DLC thus far as well as Morrowind and it's a very nice experience. I used to have that "must have it now" mentality in previous games but realized I was rushing through things and then being left with nothing to do.

Obligatory random whine thread which appears with every DLC, nothing to see here. It's like those people literally have nothing better to do with their time, but that's to be expected when you live in your mother's basement, I suppose.

If you're not excited about a particular piece of content, don't do it. Don't try to bring your "reasoning" for it (notice the quotes) to the forum, people frankly don't care.

I think it's more unreasonable to complain about drops for something you haven't even started yet. Also, you seem to have made up your mind regardless of what people are telling you. Were you here looking for an echo chamber to make you feel better about your choice?

There's a main quest? I must have missed that. After getting to the gates with that mage, he just kind of buggered off and left, with no quest to continue.
Feels like I've just been wandering around blindly looking for quests/content to do, and seem to be running out now (yet there are a number of doors that are greyed out so can't open)

So ZOS doesn't let me play at my pace, until I can afford however many crown crates it takes to get a BA motif. Still haven't found a single page since HOTR dropped.

They've actually increased the drop rate of the BA motif with CWC though, and you can get furnishing plans from killing fabricants. I've had 4 already while just going around questing, I got some dropped furnishings too.

I'm one of those people who likes to do and collect things himself. I can totally understand where you are coming from. I don't think there is a real solution here though. I mean what would you change?

    Less recipes?
    Higher droprate?

Not sure if either would be very desirable. Plus the added pressure for alts? Maybe there will be some people out there willing to trade with you recipe for recipe.

I'm sure I am not telling you anything new but perhaps consider finding like minded people in a guild? If you want to pick up the pace - again I don't feel any pressure myself because nothing is running away, I have 4 out of the 7 pieces for the dwemer pet just to compare paces here.

I have one house and I'm still expanding my inventory space. I haven't even started seriously crafting furniture. But I'm gobbling up every recipe that comes my way.

Anyways, hope you can make peace with your sense of achievement/collecting things and the speed with which new content comes out.

I haven't been inspired to do content in a while. I have yet to even try out the Horns of the Reach dungeons. To be honest I lost interest when I found out that they are easier than the Shadow of the History dungeons. Easy content doesn't interest me, and none of the gear from CwC interest me either. I have some crowns laying around so I'm just going to buy the transmutation device, and call it a day.

    Don't grind.

Grinding / farming really makes the game dull, from vMA to motifs to fishing to XP. Just enjoy playing that's key.

I'm not looking forward to getting CWC as i don't like the styling it doesn't interest me i prefer classic / European medieval. The Nerf to Crystal frag is a really bad change for my build and going CP for Battlegrounds is a bad call.

But dreading content because of the trudge, I'd just say don't trudge!!

I make a point of avoiding new zones like the plague for the first month, when I do them I like it to be early on a weekend so I get the place mostly to myself, it’s also nice because that way the npcs are all alive and not slaughtered as they are normaly... god I miss the game when you couldn’t butcher helpless civilians, if they put an opt out of the murder thing in the crown store I’d deffinately buy that
