Warden as a tank?

How is warden as a tank? (end game pve).

Warden fall short as a healer and as a dps (pve) but I've heard some good things about the tanking even if you compare warden to a DK(pve). So what's the verdict?

I've heard changes are coming to the wardens tanking abbillities, is this true? To make it even more viable with a long range pull like DK chain?

Wardens are #2 tanks in the game. They are very good, but DK's still better.

DK will always be the go to tank with their abilities, but wardens make very good tanks. Like megabear says they are second best tanks. Check out alcast.com for a decent warden tank build to get you started. But remember it's just his suggestion, create something that works for you.

I've been tanking end-game content for almost two years as a DK tank and switched to Warden Tank about a month ago . Difference is big . In a good way . Warden feels much more comfortable and more supportive to the group . Already took vMoL HM few times and every Craglorn trial in HM several times . As a player who tanked vHoF HM many , many times , I am 100% confident that my Warden tank will have an easier time in there as well .

For the vAS , I keep getting leaderboard notifications for it even from the worst groups about every 10 minutes so I don't even consider it as a challenge . Also watching the videos , pretty sure my Warden can handle it pretty easily .

For pledge runs , with the change they made to Frozen Device , I seem to be chaining even faster compared to my DK . I still have my AOE root (Gripping Shards) and any chained enemy has 30% damage reduction debuff (Major Maim) on them .

Warden is an insane tank , if you build it right of course

Make Health malubeth Warden and you will feel how much supirior is the survivanility compared to the DK , Wardens have better Selfheals and can do decent AoE dps as a health tanks.

Did Vdsa with some guildies, the tank was a warden and did fine until the last boss. After an hour or sustain issues he left and came in on his dk, we did it first go.
My verdict, better as a support tank

Yes, the clutch heals on a warden tank are awesome and the support skills like Frost Cloak are notable. No idea on trials but I'm sure off tanking with heals would be a good asset too.

Liofa has done vMoL HM think that count as end game
combined tank / healer is an benefit in farming dungeons obliviously.

I have a warden tank and a dk tank. Even though I feel the dk is the go-to class for tanking, I enjoy playing warden tank more.
Same thing for healing, templar is the go-to class but playing a warden healer is quite fun (for me) and can get really good.
