We need more Guild Slots!

We should get at least one more guild slot, more like 3. When you have to use two or three guild slots just for trading, that doesn't leave many options. And you can't get the things you need in game if you don't actively trade/sell.

That will not function with the way the market system is atm. As it stands right now, it's ok.

However by forcing only 1 guild per character. Would make trading inaccessible to many many more players. This would do nothing more than to push unnecessary animosity, towards the trading system.

The 1 guild per character system only really work. If every player had access to a AH. Which completely goes against ZOS's vision of ESO.

However @Tats I am curious to why you would think, 1 guild per character would be better?

    I'd rather not.

It's hard enough as it is to have members be true members of a guild you run.
In most MMO games you join one guild per character or account and then you form a close community with that one guild, you do all your content with that guild.
In ESO however you have a guild for everything and guild leaders have to deal with the dreaded "Sorry we can't do our raid tonight because we have no members free" whilst they have all the members in their guild but they're doing things with their other guilds that night.

This. Trials are getting more and more difficult to form guild only groups for.

    needs more guild slots.

    I personally have
    3 RP Guilds.
    1 Trade Guild.
    1 Trials Guild

and I was just invited to join some PvP Guild but I have no open slots. It would be awesome if we could have more guild slots.
    perhaps a max of 7. 8. or 10.
I wouldn't care if we had to pay crowns for extra guild slots,
we need the extra slots !

We need less guild slots. One is enough maybe 2. With lower cap on members. This would force the price of traders down as more people spread across more bidders. People wouldn't be able to get as much money together, and more trade spots would help.

Yeah gotta say guild slots aren't enough

    For me currently:
1 storage guild made by my other account

Lol. Storage guild? Perhaps we actually need less guilds if people are beginning to use them for storage. Better to give us more storage, for example more bankspace or more inventory. Using guild slots to create guilds for the purpose of storing: something is not working correctly.

I don't understand why people bring up guild loyalty whenever people ask for more guild slots.

I've been in two of my guilds since 30th March 2014. I've been in another of my guilds since April 2014, and a fourth since June 2014.

I think that makes me really quite loyal, don't you?

How many events and activities do you participate in for each of those guilds? That's how I view guild loyalty. If pressed and both are running something at the same time, which do you go with? The length of time you're in a guild is only a small part of what guild loyalty really is, at least in my opinion.

I hope this helps answer your question about guild loyalty.

Well, two of them are trading guilds so they don't HAVE events. Although I always make free gear for people in my guilds 1-3 if I am not actively in a group or in the middle of a quest which is a pain to come back to. Certainly I'll offer to make the gear later, if no one else can help.

If guild 2 and 5 have an event at the same time, I'd usually (but not always) go with 2 because it's the guild I run, and also because I prefer PvE to PvP.

That's the difference between ESO and some other games, I think. Very few guilds do everything, and I'm not aware of any which do everything well. My trading guilds don't run events but have excellent trader positions. One of them also has a policy of helping people with crafting. My social guild is good for crafting, game help and PvE, but has only an average trader spot. My PvP guild has at least one event every day, with 2-3 some days, convenient for people in many timezones - but an absolutely terrible trader position.

I'd like a couple more guild slots so I could join more social guilds. Like an all-women's guild, an LGBT guild, or a French-speaking guild. (I've been thinking about switching my game into French, but I'm too out of practice not to miss a lot of context if I was questing in French.)

Hrodulf Bearpaw - Nord Warden Bear Friend & identical twin of Bjornolfr level 50
Jadisa al-Belkarth - Redguard Arcanist Damage Dealer level 50

Those are valid reasons to have more guild spots. I think one of the reasons they don't give more slots is for those that would find ways to abuse the system. Things like having 9 guild banks or stocking up on trade guilds to have too much of a chunk of the market at your disposal. I know people won't see this as a downside, but if you essentially have unlimited storage, no need for ESO+ then. If you have a large chunk of the market available then the trader system starts to lose its purpose. Unfortunately there is no way to moderate how many of one kind of guild you are a part of.

Again, the reasons you stated are fine in my opinion, but I feel that for other reasons they won't. Hopefully I'm wrong.

    Hey I can't join a 5th guild... what's going on?
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

I agree. While I think that the number of guilds we can join should have some kind of limit, 5 just seems like too little. Doubling this number as an ESO Plus incentive would really be great.

If ZOS added another couple of guild slots all that would happen is that most of those complaining about 5 guilds not being enough would join another couple of trading guilds and then carry on complaining.

The best way to improve the guild slot situation is to have a proper trading system that isn't locked behind guild membership. No, it doesn't have to be an auction house system - although, funnily enough, in games with such a trading system one guild slot always seems plenty and I've never seen anyone ask for more!

The other way of easing the situation would be for each of your characters to be able to join different guilds (or none) if you so require. Why should your trials or RP character automatically be forced to belong to your PvP or trading guilds?

Either way, the present guild system doesn't make a lot of sense and does nothing for guild loyalty and community spirit.

I agree that we need more then 5 guild slots. Some of us who are in trade guilds, if you are an officer it is almost mandatory if that guild has a 'sister' guild that you belong to it as well. This makes it difficult for people to be able to have FAIR amount of guild spots so that they can pursue the game in other areas such as PvP, Battlegrounds, Social, Housing or RP. Add in that those of us who follow streamers from the ESO Official Stream Team - they usually have their own guilds as well - so we are unable to support them because of guild slots.

There needs to at least be an option of guild categories and limits within those. Definitely restrict the amount of trade guilds someone can belong too so that there is not such a monopoly on the marketplace but please give us, the players who support the game as we play every day, the options of more guild slots.
