Stamsorc and monster sets

Getting back into my DW stamsorc (Redguard) and trying out different gear sets. I've seen a number of different sets used, but one that's not mentioned is Sellstrix. I had a set lying around and am trying it out...I am hoping that it can advantage of the DW passive that increases damage to stunned mobs.

Has anyone run numbers on this versus more traditional choices?

What are you trying to do with it? Tanks hate anything that stuns and this does. Have you tried Stormfist? It is practically made for a Stam sorc.

Just to run the numbers, it does 5k damage every 5.5 seconds, the damage is increased by master at arms and Mighty, so pretty much the best you can expect from this set is around 1k DPS, so unless you need a hard cc every 5.5 seconds, there are better options.

I like storm fist. 1 pc recovery bonus is very helpful on stam sorc, as dark deal is useless for pve dps. The 2 pc bonus does good damage, and the physical and shock damage both can proc the sorc passive that does bonus damage... I can't remember the name. I have had the best use of it.

Not for pvp though.

I completely agree with the DPS -- the attraction was the stun as it triggers a 15% damage increase for DW. Having played with it, I don't think it's consistent enough to beat other sets but that's just off a few dungeon runs.

The other set I have seen, less so than Vel or Stormfist but still, is Skoria. Some people swear by it and it has the 1k health.

I have used skoria on a stamplar, my Stam sorc and my Stam warden, it is fine, you can run dubious more comfortably but the problem with the set is that all your pen stats do nothing for the proc. On my stamden, the tool tip was around 11k but in reality it was only hitting around 8.5k. I mean it is really cool looking and the only proc that is autohit, no matter the distance so it is more reliable when it procs and it does proc basically off cool down with the usual Stam dots, ie hail and caltrops and such, so use it and see if you like it.

Your options are:

Velidreth, Kragh, Selene's, Stormfist and Mephala's

Honestly Mephala's is sleeper OP, given the heavy attack meta, but really it is up to you.
