They were the named jewlery of that trait before the onetam (?) patch. And only the set part was added. And if your wondering what was chosen where. They tried to make it set/trait friendly whilst fitting the name theme. (Hence why there is so many effectively same viper jewlery)

Interesting. I wonder if they'll ever revisit the max stats on jewelry, or allow us to change them ourselves. When sets possess jewelry with different max stats, then those sets instantly become more versatile.
For example, Rattlecage jewelry with max magicka allows the heavy set to become more DPS-focused when worn on jewelry and weapons. However, the stamina equivalent to Rattlecage (Dreugh King Slayer), doesn't have that luxury. All of its jewelry can only be acquired in max health.
