Destiny 2 has same problem as eso...

But opposite end of the spectrum

https://youtu.be/STB_lu-GpsM

Basically this is about depth, considering switching over due to the huge amount of time to reach endgame compared to other games out there, looks like there is no medium it's no life or casual whereas I'm kind of in middle.

All I ask before commenting, ignore the game in video listen to the man talking, at least 3 minutes of it and you'll probably be hooked to the point.

After you get the gist I wanna know, is eso too deep for anyone who don't see it as a lifestyle?

I suppose it depends how you look at it, 180 days to get a horse done, about the same to learn all crafting traits, that's straight up half a year of your life, with average lifespan being what 70 thats dedication and deep for most.

If all you do is game then maybe not so deep, if you have a family a job and other commitments, well yes.

Horses and research are a straw man at best because all told it's like at most at MOST 5 hours of actual time for 14 toons to research and horse feed.

The alloted time between these events is not relevant to the depth of the game, it's just arbitrary wait time that you could do whatever you want. As long as you log in feed your horse and check your research, there is nothing more casual than that. < 3 minutes a day.

Tl;dr really weigh the fun you have in game vs the business practices you are supporting.

Exactly I am always astounded by those who say it’s too easy or fast to get to ‘endgame’. For those who can only play an hour or so a night it takes an age!!!!! I would like it a bit faster with more depth in other areas like side quests, but faster levelling and please god account ride horse training...

Yeah totally agree, playing since release my horse has about 50 speed 30 stamina and 30 capacity, nobody just logs in to train a horse unless a slave to the game, will only do it myself if going to play.

Endgame ESO is all about gear chase. The is NO reason to play the latest DLC dungeons (Falk, Blood Forge) because all of the gear is useless. Everyone is still using gear that's been out for 2+ years or overpowered crafted gear (Julianos, Hundings). ZOS has done a very poor job incentivizing their recent content. Even Halls of Fabrication only has one usable gear set. People only run that Trial because they are bored and have done everything else 100+ times.

VSA introduces Asylum weapons, which should be the new gear chase. We'll see how that goes.

This, however you can do eso on pretty much any level and feel good.

The gear chase is only half of it. You can put anyone in tfs/hundings and get the potential for 30k+dps. But can they actually do it?

I wreck plenty of ppl in pvp with similar builds due to capabilities and knowledge. Gear, knowledge, and mechanics are all equally vital. It shows greatly in eso when someone is lacking in them. It does in destiny as well, but not nearly as much.

Imo eso has the perfect combo of depth and accessability, thats a large part of the reason all my gaming time goes in to playing it. Idc about those other games when im having too much fun in this one. Maybe when D2 goes on sale for $30 ill give it a look.

Not usable according to whom? Just because someones favorite streamer hasn't signed off on something doesn't mean it isn't viable. I have tons of set-ups for my Healer and DPS that you wouldn't find on any build videos. I heal vet Trials all the time and can pull 25-30k without issue. Sooo, BS on that.

I'll log in to train horseriding. Why not? Takes a few minutes. I'm not interested in playing until next DLC, but I'll log in now and then to work on horseriding for my 2 wardens. I don't do it every day, but when I think of doing it, I do it. In fact, I'm going to do it right now.

Destiny 2 is hot garbage. No comparison to be made. I am not happy with the current state of this game but, if it was like the old days I'd play like a madman all over again. D2 couldnt keep a monkey intrested for 1 hour. It has no depth, no true class customization, no challenge, no content, no meaning to gear. I mean it really is the biggest joke ever. It's weird how pointless that game feels. ESO never felt like that. Just sucks to see what it is now. Pvp use to be a blast.
