PVP wise, I only use it when I have to such as magplar for elusive mist. Undeath is great, but dawnbreakers and DKs hurt too much.

    Depends on what you're doing.

My Mag NB is vamp since I want the movement penalty gone and don't want to have to go for a specific set to do so, and it helps to have both stam and magicka recovery.

Just took my templar stamina again and I am trying to make use of medium armor so taking extra damage is not wanted. Werewolf is fun to me and it doesn't give me any negatives while not transformed and gives me stam recovery if I have it slotted.

My Mag Sorc just has no use for either. I could throw one on for extra recovery but its not that much to me necessary.

Yes but many devamp for final fight in vHoF HM and maybe will do the same for the new trial.

The increases fire damage is fairly strong but avoidable in many situations. I think the vamp is fairly balanced.

If you just need the regen passive, use Double Bloody Mara drink to keep your vamp at stage 2. So you'll only take 10% extra fire damage instead of 25%, and for difficult fights you can even reduce it to stage 1 (which disables the benefits, but you can easily return to stage 2 by spamming mist form).
And most importantly, you should always try to avoid/mitigate all avoidable damage, even if youre not a vampire. Once you get used to it, the game becomes much easier. If youre a mage, always try to keep your shields up, and dont forget about blade cloak and self-heals if your char is stamina-based. In pvp, vampirism provides some useful tools, such as undeath passive and mist form.

Is sneaking a big part of your gameplay? If yes, then go vampire because Night's Silence and Shadow Dancer make you weak.

You have the choice, you can either deal with the extra dawnbreaker damage or hit like you're wearing a styrafoam Hulk fist.

Playing magica not stamina so it's inevitable . Still , mist form saves me just as often as dodge rolling or chugging pots .

Edit: my auto correct hates the word mist .

Mist Form is just too good for my Templar. Immune to snares (except of course the stupid charge snare) and the only source of Magicka based Major Expedition, and 75% damage reduction is simply too strong for me in PvP.

It has saved my life approximately 14,364 times.

For Sorc I would say no, DK probably, NB maybe yes maybe no, and definitely not for Stamina builds.

Back in the day when there was no cp being a Vamp was much harder then it is now, the fire damage was hitting real hard. Now with cp you can reduce your damage taken from fire what means it isnt a real treat anymore.

Only my PvP stamina character is Vamp because of the increased movement speed what helps alot moving and escaping fast in Cyro (glass canon build)

Also this character is my thief and resource gatherer and most of the time iam in sneak mode due the movement speed increase.

So yes its still usefull to be a Vamp but depending what you doing with it.

If you're just using it for regen / sneak, you're just putting yourself at a disadvantage. Being super vulnerable to DKs, meteors, cold fire, and destro ult isn't a fun time.

I would drop vamp only if they nerfed undeath. So many times I expected to be dead but wasn't because of that passive. As a sorc I feel like the extra damage from fire and FG is worth shielding through just for that passive. I also appreciate the extra movement speed if I have to stealth. I'd rather drop vamp in pve, but haven't come across any content that stage 2 can't deal with.

Vamp is insanely good, after a while you forget the fire damage is even there because you automatically compensate for it after you get used to it. Plus there is CP

Extra regen and undeath are absolutely worth it.
