Black Rose or Armor of the Trainee

Which set would you recommend me for an hybrid build or in general. Excepting traits if we have in mind that soon transmutation will be possible.

I need to decide for one of both and I can't..

I run black rose and baharas curse on my hybrid magplar. Works a treat.

pelinal's isn't a bad choice - it's just the build set up is much trickier...

armor of the trainee got nerfed even harder than black rose - which in of itself is pretty crazy...

collected a whole set of "the trainee" just about the same time the nerf hit - was heartbroken, sold what I had...

shacklebreaker might be your best bet at the moment...

black rose isn't turrible - just, no where near what it once was...i still wear a set on my stamplar, along with plague doctor (5pc on SnB) and selene's...

he wears 7 heavy and his back bar is a lightening stave...

Shacklebreaker is BiS for hybrids, imho. Trainee used to be great for PvP before nerf. I think Ill combine these with domihaus shoulder once CWC goes live. Trainee has hidden benefits as well. Like, it can be transmogrified into Imperial/Morag Tong look if you have Imperial edition/Morrowind collector's edition.

Pretty diverse and nice sets mentioned by others here.

Me personally? My hybrid Templar uses 5x Pelinal's, 5x Dreugh King Slayer and 2x agility sets. DW front bar and SnB back bar; all heavy armour. Tri-stat max resource buff food.
End result is:
• 3.2k wep and spell damage; 3.4k buffed
• 24k stam and mag pools; 20k health
• 23k buffed resists SnB; ~19k buffed resists DW
• 685 mag regen; 1075 stam regen
• 45% buffed wep crit; ~22% buffed spell crit

Now, the regens aren't great at all but keep in mind that you have good 'artificial' sustain as you draw resources from both stam and mag to deal damage and heal. Over a sustained fight, you'll hold up really well I can assure you and tri-stat potions are going to be your best friend.
My hybrid can reliably be a DD, tank and somewhat a healer in most of the contents in the game. He can tank vet dungeons whilst dealing a fair amount of damage simultaneously and if a situation warrants additional heals, he will always be on the ready with vigour and/or BoL.

So in essence, my hybrid can contribute to a 4-man Vet Dungeon runs with the strength of an additional DD and a healer, effectively and artificially emulating a 6-man group. But this also means that my hybrid neither dish out top-tier DPS and healings nor does he have tower-like defence and therefore won't be as effective in competitive Vet Trial runs. That's the only part where my hybrid is gimped to the max.
Regardless, this build is by far the most I've enjoyed in a very long time. That said, take your time to tailor your go-to build and have fun.

Black rose is really really really bad. It gives not enough sustain and not enough damage

Black Rose has recieved like 4 nerfs... I still use it because I'm very casual on PVP.

ZOS needs to revisit Black Rose... they nerfed the set repeatedly and then nerfed heavy armor after... me personally, I think Black Rose 5th bonus should be returned to the 40 to 50% range... then it would be good again.

Willows + drinks can sustain everything - but leaves you low on all stats - so add a bit of trainee...

But like all hybrid builds I've tried - its pretty underwhelming overall.

I checked it out a bit cz im hybrid too, and I ended up using TBS, it made resource management and tankyness better especially with the boost and changes to mundus stones.

BUT when i learned about transmog, i checked trainee again with w/e trait i wanted, and trainee comes out on top on paper.

That being said, because in terms of pure stat trainee just gives so much, im half expecting it to be re-nerfed to fit their <this-is-the-noob-trianing-set' mindset.

So I agree with what pushed you to probably post this op, Trainee is going to be viable again and very interesting, the question is for how long? I def would not gold it until the next big update, if it hasnt be nerfed by then, it should be safe.

So you think trainee is a good option with transmutation. But black rose gives also spell power, don't you think it is something to consider?

My idea is to use shaclebreacker set and trainee or black rose. The idea is combine everything in an hybrid build. Resource management, dps, tankiness and etc. I think it can be very interesting in a DK for bgs.
