Sell Crystal Geodes for several Writs/Tel Var - Molag Bal -Sell Crystal Geodes in the Crown Store

Allows 'Vet' crafting content to drop the crystals, allows PvE PvP players an active avenue to obtain these crystals while also increasing the population of imperial city (and thus increasing the risk). And also allows players who play occasionally (because of work or other things) to replace that grind with payment to a service.


What are your thoughts?

PvP gets them from rewards for the worthy and end of campaign rewards. They arguably get it the best way out of everyone as they just have to do what they love and get them.

Adding them to writ rewards as a small chance isn't a bad idea though, maybe even to all daily rewards as a very low chance. However they shouldn't be so easy to farm if ZOS wants to keep content somewhat meaningful in acquiring gear.

Oh, that actually gave me an idea. Have the district and sewer bosses drop the geodes/crystals rather than buying them with Tel Var. Obviously molag balls should drop some too.

I don't think that regular writs should drop them, as those are easily farmed. plus, if they can be bought with writs it adds in a bit of an economic way to obtain them (for economic players).

Putting them on the store would be incredibly stupid, and they know it. They've toed the cosmetic line for so long, jumping into that p2w swamp would finally give the crown store criers something sensible to complain about. I have no doubr transmog will be available on the store when it comes, which is likely why they went out of their way to distance the 2 mechanics conceptually when asked.

Tel var exchange would be neat.

At this point all it literally will do is reduce time it takes to get something, not purchasing the item itself. It's the same model that Warframe has when it comes to its time-based gates.

Though they will need to increase the rate at which you can get the crystals in the base game or have the Geodes be a ridiculous price.

The problem I see with that is these are quote often on farm by the few players down in IC. With these being a currency it would also be an all reward no loss kind of gain down there because who cares if you get ganked and lose TV stones when your geodes/crystals just go directly to your safe account currency page.

hmmmm...... fair enough. However in the case of molag bal I think that he should drop crystals directly. Group content and the like.

Other than that though I think that DLC are gonna need to have methods of acquiring the crystals from their introduced events/dailies. For IC I do think that acquisition through the Tel Var system would be a nice change.
