Hi guys, after almost a year playing as a stamblade, I wanna start a new character
And, I was thinking, for aesthetics reasons, in a stam nord DK, a tank build, using one handed and shield and a two handed weapon, like a viking

But, I really don't understand anything about a tank, so, you guys could give me a little help?

Why a Nord?

Argonian is great for sustain due to its passives for positions and boost to max health.

Imperials have an even better max health passive and one for max stam. Also gets a small ammount of healing (small).

DK is a great choice for class. Good utility and resource management ability.

As for information on tanking, there is a whole lot of information that can be provided. What exactly are your questions ATM.

For leveling I'd suggest level S&B (obviously) but also damage weapons. You'll want to be able to do some half decent damage for getting skill points and whatever.

Beyond that I'd suggest asking more specific questions and also note what you see tanks doing in dungeons.

So OP, since you said you don't understand tanking. Tell us what you do know so we know, gives a good basis for what to explain.

Appearance is at least a 12% increase in block damage.

I wouldn't worry too much about damage at low level, if you study some of the information found here and this forum poster you're sure to make many friends as a tank. Let them do the damage for you and you reap the rewards. You can do damage as a tank, especially a DK with 2 hander. But even if you can't you're likely to outlast the majority of monsters in solo quests, and if you have a non-solo quest to do, remember those friends... bring em along.You're going to make plenty.

Thanks for the answers guys, to be more specific for now i need advice about, what skil/skill lines I should priorize(don't wanna farm to much skill points on this character), sets for a standard tank and atributes distribuition.

This should sound a weird, but what is "OP"? My mother language is not english so acronyms is a little bit confuse to me (OP in my country is overpower lol)

nord aint a bad choice, but argonians def make the best tanks of all the races. at least you picked the best class for a tank too

you should be fine tanking cept end game content

Some quick things, heavy armor, Sword and shield, would not recommend using a 2 hander for a tank but you can if you want to. Big skills you will need. Igneous Shield, Unrelenting Grip, Choking Talons, Pierce Armor, Heroic Slash, Absorb Magic, Hardened Armor and Aggressive Horn to name a few. For Attributes, it depends on how you set up your glyphs and such, but I would recommend getting to 20k Stamina and putting everything else into Health.

A good tip to go by as well is that people will love you if you build to support and to not just be tanky, so look for heavy armor set that helps not just you but the group as a whole.

You will use a lot of magicka abilities and stamina abilities, DK get back stamina when using earthen heart abilities, what you want to focus is magicka recovery, or if you want to be more risk player run Spell Symmetry. I prefer magicka recovery. So don't worry all that much about Max magicka, but you could, considering your race run a lot of Tri stat glyphs on your armor, helps a lot and it is indeed good to start with a larger pool of magicka and stamina, but for magicka its less important.
