Flying mounts would make ESO an awesomely spectacular sensation. Imagine circling Eldenroot. Or watch others do it.

I would get them in an instant.

If done right then flying mounts are great.......but for many reasons I wouldn't want them in this game/franchise/payment model etc.

I'd love a *floating* mount. Specifically a netch. We already have a nice tall mount, the camel, so being that far up off the ground isn't an issue. Just stuff a floating netch under there!

The only thing Flying Mounts will do is illustrate how small the zones really are.

Also, there would be so many limitations on them due to PvP that they would not be worth using.

And Invisible walls would still be invisible, and walls.

So, a lot of work for a meh outcome.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Not arguing FOR flying mounts, but the argument that they "ruined" other games is not a good one. Ruined them for who? You? Then don't use them if you don't like them.

How about floating, or hovering mounts... that just float maybe, 2-feet in the air.?

I think we need 'pet-mounts' - a twilight matriarch mount that carries my with claws, by the shoulders. Or a clannfear you can ride.

Flying mounts would mean I wouldn't get to watch people on their horses trying to jump up a hill or over rocks for minutes before they finally go around. I vote no

That would be terrible in PVP. You could just fly from one keep to the next, defeating the purpose of PVP.

    Congrats.

Flying mounts don't necessarily need to add a vertical element.

We have flying pets already...you could essentially just make one of those bigger (you just float over the ground, but don't actually fly over stuff).

True.. That would work as far as engine mechanics goes, but the fact is, flying mounts still break lore.
The only "Flying on Mounts" in Mundas is the Dragonborn on a dragon and that ONLY has happened a few times and only like once an era.
So still, No... No flying mounts.....

Half the obnoxious mounts in the crown store break lore.

If those don't bother you, then flying mounts won't either.

I think it's hilarious the rage and fear that a simple question asks.

All you folks think flying mounts are unpopular?? Right! Any game that sells them, they are highly used.

Don't be frightened. If flying mounts scare you just don't use them.
I don't think it's rage and fear so much as people are tired of the same conversations.

The forums search is showing four pages of threads with flying mounts in the name.

As others have said whilst some games do have are are suited for flying mounts, ESO is not. It would require a very large overhaul for a system which really isn't required due to wayshrines and travel to player options.

Zones would need to be reworked to connect to one another more closely and ideally allow for seamless transitions between them.
Zones can not be connected or they can but you need loading gates anyway as they are on different physical servers.
In WOW you live on one server who hold say 1% of game population but hold the entire world.
Downside of ESO is the loading then entering other zones, downside of wow is that the leveling zones are dead.

And yes wayscrines and travel to player is instant flying takes time and you still get the loading time.
Only benefit of flying would be avoiding mobs in quests and farming chests.

Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

Seems like the best solution would be to give flying mounts for subscribers only.

Just like the crafting bag. It's a win/win for players and ZOS!

It can sound good, because you can then get to higher and look beautiful landscape. Technically it doesn't work. ZOS needs to do much work with programming. They must take off invisible walls etc, so it means: they must program their game again.

When I imagine flying mounts, it looks stupid. If this happen, I must question lore again... Why Oblivion or Skyrim (or other games what happens after ESO) don't have flying mounts too? Same thinking than those dwarven mounts.

2 cents from an upcoming Necromancer

As nice as the thought of flying mounts is, it's irrelevant when you take into account the Wayshrines
It also doesn't fit considering just how very few large flying creatures there are in Elder Scrolls.

I could see a quest where a Welkynar Knight gives you a ride, though I would be cautious about doing that as it could open the flood gates of demands.
