Flame Blossom Set for PvP?

I have been reading on the forums that most people have negative opinions of this set, but on paper it does look good as a MagDK PvP set. If it was used with Skoria, Silk of the Sun, and Meteor, you could get some nasty burst damage off if both Skoria and Blossom proc. Even if Blossom has a slow projectile speed, MagDK is usually in melee range so it wouldn't really matter. I've done no testing with this set because I haven't bothered to farm pieces. Is there any hope for a build like this?

I don't really see a place where it outperforms Overwhelming Surge (with a pretty similar effect).

surge is unavoidable and also procs skoria.

I haven't seen it in pvp yet. But i can definitely imagine it outperforming surge in keep defense/offense with large groups. A block dk would actual be pretty nasty with it since its close range, causing the blossom to possibly hit more targets.

Stand on your eruption, inhale, engulfing flames, flm burning talons, blossom proc, skoria proc, leap would wreck a lot of cyro. Chug an immovable before so you don't get feared and this sounds nasty.

It's nice how you can proc it from range though. If you're not hitting multiple targets though you may as well go with other sets.

Can't believe I haven't seen this set yet. Maybe once actually if that's what it was, don't even know what it looks like.

the only place I could think of where it would be nice to have is bridge fights and breaches or milegates.

It was effectively a long mag veli in how the damage was almost unavoidable, the line continuing was never really useful.

They ninja nerfed it by giving it a 1s wait before the line begins to move, killing it.
