Is crit chance hard capped at 50% in pvp

I have heard from many people that crit is capped at 50% in pvp but as a nightblade if we build gear for crit chance we can hit the high 80s to high 90s.

✭You need to take into account gear the other players are using to REDUCE crit chance. Your character sheet may say you have 80% chance to crit, but due to the armor trait impenetrable, it gets lowered.1 -

Crit resistance doesn't reduce crit chance. It reduces crit damage. Big difference.
Ahh, my mistake. It was changed..

That being said, I'm sure there are some abilities that reduce crit chance for you. Since I don't PvP at all, I don't worry about those stats.0 -
