If....

1) You dedicated 3.5+ years of your life to ESO

2) You were the GM of a well-to-do Guild with a great Lore-based identity and owned the Domain to match

3) Had your ESO account hacked

4) Lost millions of Gold

5) Lost thousands of Gold Upgrade Items

6) Had multiple Guild Banks emptied with VERY valuable items inside

7) Had your Toons stripped and all of your gear deconstructed (see #5)

8) Had 15,000+ of your 33,000+ Crowns spent on bull-*** Crown Crates

9) Confirmed with your email provider the IP of the attack that originated from the other side of the world

10) Had Support tell you there's nothing they'll do


Not a Quit thread. No, you can't have my stuff...someone already took it. All of it.

I've never Account Shared. Passwords weren't 'weak'. Email and in-game Passwords were not the same. Blah, blah, blah...

Obligatory: ESO needs an Authenticator App.

    WOW has an rollback feature, they go in and pull an backup of your account. This is from some days to months old if you have not played for an long time and found your account hacked.
    They activate it and you are back playing.

    This might be a bit harder in ESO because of stuff like housing, but that could be brute forced, just stuffing your furniture in bank is one way.

    And yes competence level is low. An Authenticator App would help
    Grinding just make you go in circles.
    Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

    Honestly? If I had the sort of time and drive to get that much done in the game, I think I'd also have the time and drive to find a physical location for that IP, fly there, and have a word with the thief.

    Think it says in their ToS they won't replace in game items but crown stuff they will.
    I have always found ZOS customer service to be very good, try badgering them about it more.

    Keep contacting the support. It can't be that they don't give you your stuff back. I never had something like this in ESO gladly, but I had it happen multiple times in other MMOs and I always got all my stuff restored without any problems. I don't belief that this is somehow impossible in ESO.

    I would get in/on that 996 and drive/ride off into the sunset (not sure if Porsche or Ducati).

    Seriously though, I can't believe they can't restore this stuff. They have to be able to track where the stuff went. If they don't want to, I certainly would not give them another penny.

    I can't say what I'd do in that situation as it's one I'd never find myself in given my playstyle, but presented with it in this way I'd ask myself what else is there that I'm not being told? Given the apparent clarity of the original story the other week (and repeated here) and the intervention of ZOS at that time through PMs I'd ask myself what do they know that I don't which has apparently led to them subsequently doing nothing to rectify the situation as alleged? Of course they can restore the account, the question is why haven't they? Maybe the truth of it is all on one side, maybe there's another side I don't know. All I do know is that these things are often not quite what they appear at first to be.

    Just to be clear - I am not taking sides as between the OP and ZOS, rather I am stressing that we only have one side before us. So the answer to the question "What would I do?" is entirely dependent on my knowing the other side.

    Firstly I read your story when it happened and the fact as pointed out above the story is still the same..........

    When somebody accidently destroys something you appear to be able to track that and restore the item(ok not always but it does happen).....

    However this guy gets his account destroyed by an IP address, apparently on the other side of the world and you cannot spot any problem??

    I had my router replaced recently which led to a raft of authentication codes being sent, I'm really curious what is going on here and a little worried too! :(

    I'd ask devs to return my stuff. If not just quit. Was your password too weak? Download anything suspicious? Buy gold from anyone?

    I'd change the passwords on my CC, bank, email and other relevant real life accounts.

    I wouldnt have counted on ZOS to do anything for me, I learned that lesson pretty early on. Sorry you had to learn it this way man, that sucks.

    This is so sad to read, I couldn't imagine losing all of that stuff on any account of mine. I really hope ZOS sees this and does something for you, at least the crowns.. and they really should have the character rollback system for this game and I hope they either add it or at least an Authenticator system.. So sorry for your loss OP. I'd say if you have had good times in this game, pick up the peices you have left and keep playing. More good times will follow.

    If support didn't do anything, I'd quit. I would also change any credit card/pay pal whatever I was using. And to top it off, i'd file a complaint with the federal business. Stealing pixl gold and gear is one thing, stealing crowns (which has a direct dollar value) is something else entirely.
