Is Spinner's Garment's a good set for DW MagSorc?

I am working on my new DW MagSorc build and have been thinking of Spinner's set for a while. The playstyle I want to embrace is one of a glass canon type. Very aggressive and high damage build
I have been thinking around these sets:
Spinner's Garment's
War Maiden
Law of Julianos
Mother's Sorrow

I have currently Spinner's set (jewellery and swords) and War Maiden (all body)
I have been thinking to swap Spinner's with Julianos or something else since Spinner's does not help with those using shields

What do you think is the best combination of Armor sets for a full glass canon (high damage burst) build type?

EDIT:
This is for DW (Dual WIeld) MagSorc PVP, not PVE

On a sorc shock build combined with netch's it is absolutly beastly....

I would say Spider Cultist is one of the more underrated sets right now.

In response to the OP, Spinner's is performing well in PvP right now because it is a good way to gain pen after the sharpened nerf.

As I understand it there are better options in PvE.

PvP is not nearly as clear cut as PvE. Various players will have lower or higher spell mitigation. Light armor targets may have as little as 11k, while Heavy armor targets could have up to 30k. Spinner's is one of the strongest boosts to dps you can get assuming 2 things are true:
    1. You are not over-penetrating the target
    2. The target does not have a damage shield up.

If either of those two conditions are false, Spinner's will be giving you no benefit at all.

Well, I understand that. But on an overall level, if you PVPed enought, do you feel like Spell Penetration is an important factor or not? Do you think most of the fights will involve shields and factors preventing Spell penetration?

Dw magsorc is very tough to play i would go double destro or atleast one destro so you can use force pulse spam. Other wise only damage will come from haunting curse and crystal frag which will be hard casting most of time since you dont use much spam abilities.

But to answer question yes spinner is good but i wouldnt go DW.

tbh it depends on both your cp allocation and how many cp you have, spinners is more beneficial to lower cp players than high cp players for one main reason:

5pc gives low cp players extra penetration so that they can allot cp to other nodes rather than piling them into the spell errosion node.

High cp players will have to be careful because although they will have the penetration from spinners 5pc they will have plenty of points to spend elsewhere (some will go into spell errosion for a pvp build) but due to how cp has diminishing returns on the more you invest into any particular node then it can be easy to waste that cp until it becomes almost ineffective making spinners a duff choice, so yes spinners will work in pvp and it will work well but the higher cp you are then other options are also viable (not mothers sorrow though as most pvp'ers builds run a fair amount of impen that negates crit)

I am well aware of that. I have always played a different build and wanted to try out something very different. I am solid on trying DW, so would be helpful if you would have any suggestions)

    for pve:
2x precise lightning staffs with shock enchants,

back bar = hardened ward, wall of elements, liquid lightning, bound aegis and mages wrath

front bar = inner light, bound aegis, power surge, force pulse/crushing shock, shock clench

    People you meet in PvP:
Heavy armor Templars and DKs with high mitigation and no shields: Spinner's = good.
Shield-stacking magSorcs in Light Armor: Spinner's = bad.
NBs and StamSorcs are a little harder to pigeon-hole.

Who do you have more trouble with?
Or maybe pick a set that is universally useful, like one that gives spell damage or max mag, or just go with a sustain set.

It depends on how you play... do you 4 man dungeon, vet or normal, trials, pug, solo...Spinners is good if you are not hitting pen cap... so if you mostly solo and/or pug , then I would use spinners, since I doubt you are near pen cap, esp. with the sharpened nerf, if you are running with a good team that is giving you major breach and and fracture and a tank running the crusher enchant, then your options are more varied...

Its very difficult to give someone a "correct" answer, since gear selection is predicted on play style... Remember, the Gilliams and Alcast's of this world are basing their builds on running with a set trial group, who are synergizing all their gear sets to optimize GROUP DPS... not self DPS...

Well if i was to go DW on a mag sorc i couldnt fight the temptation to go 5 elegant 5 netches touch 2 kena and just go ham on overload.

Its definitely not meta LOL but would be really fun jumping in a no cp battlegrounds and overloading everything you see xD

Btw last time i ran overload critical hits in pvp were hitting for over 25k LOL

based on your current set up and what i think you are trying to achieve i would drop warmaiden only benefits curse, frags & mines

you could go netch & full shock build & that is very strong - but curse, frags & mines will be weak

necro is obviously a strong choice if your happy to run a pet

but good old julianus would benefit everything in your arsenal without being forced to run a pet

^ ran this way for many moons, but repeated DW MagSorc nerfs have made it less and less viable each patch (damage reduction, cost increases, buff to destro, webs gone, ultimate halved)

Plus OL only kills noobs, it has so many counters sadly. It's fun tho.

Had a 81k Crit once in vDSA back in the day with group buffs :)
