Have you noticed a FPS , Lag or Ping improvement since friendly animation removal ?

Just curious if this change in not seeing allies combat animations have lead to anyone's improvement with game performance . Have you noticed any difference during combat ? Do you like this change ?

    Ironically after reading this I seemed after fixed my 64 bit client so I will let you know after I have the full experience! :lol:

    I haven't noticed anything, just that it's much harder for me and my friends to overlap our elemental blockades, refreshing paths, and unaware when the other is using most of the affected AoE abilities.

    Really, it's made things especially annoying as a tank.

    I've only noticed that I can't see if my dps are actually using their dots anymore. And my tank can't tell where the damage is being laid down.

    This was a really terrible change. My frames haven't improved any since the update, the game is just harder to play. This really should've been optional.

    I know improving performance may not be simple as ''buying more servers'' but it sure as hell shouldn't be removing a core aspect of the game. The game I bought and invested time in doesn't feel 100% anymore now that my allies don't see half the skills I use.
    Aesthetics aside this affects gameplay a lot because people can't synergize their AOE crowd control skills as effectively anymore. A developer should know their own game better.

    I don't know why they thought it was a good idea to make it mandatory. This change is only useful in PvP.

You should be keeping the boss as stationary as possible, but the image I'm getting from you guys is comical. Where did the DD lay his blockade... umm probably right where you and the boss are already standing. Where is that destro ult? Probably in a huge radius around you and the boss. It's not exactly easy to go out of destro ult radius unless your DD dropped it with you and the boss on the very edge for some reason. You're acting like the DDs lay their AoE anywhere and you have to take the boss there. Same thing with adds, gather them up and then have the DDs adjust their AoE.

    Ironically, it makes it harder to find the bosses now in dungeons. I use to know they were in the center of the light show, now I don't know where the light show is......

    While fighting the second boss in vHoF our tanks complained about the splitting mechanic (the one when the tank has to block looking at the boss who splits himself in 4) because it's been hard to see. Such a huge lightshow going on there making it hard to see.

    I did gives me about 10/15 frames more in trails atm so I am kinda happy with it!

    This in entirely client based, server still has to calculate all the effects.
    Client side its easier to see enemy effects and its less drain on GPU, i see the issue for tanks who don't see the friendly aoe.
    Grinding just make you go in circles.
    Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

    They need to keep the area of affect cone or circle on the ground where it can be seen and just get rid of all the pretty stuff that does nothing but look flashy. Trying to find trolls in the trials amid all the flames, lighting and floaty things is silly.

    No improvement on my end from this change so far . This is why I was wondering if others were noticing more performance . I do like the option to brighten enemy area effects but not seeing friendly effects makes decision making in combat way more difficult . I was really hoping this would lead to much better performance .

    You do know that a tank does more than deal with bosses right? Herding mobs into a central location so they can be AOE'd down is important as well to prevent parties from having to take them all out 1 by one and waste critical resources. If a tank can't see where the AOE is, it's a bit harder to make sure they are standing within it and doing their jobs. Of course not all tanks are created equal, and perhaps your style is a bit different.

    A healer's AOE is also kind of important to be able to clearly see, but I'm sure those wily devs who don't play the game or PTS feedback have it all figured out.

    I have experienced less lag, and it's really nice considering I don't have a great computer like other players. But I do understand the issue when it comes to other roles like tanks, who have to know where the aoes are to keep the npcs in em. The aoe removal really should be an option, so everyone can benefit from either seeing or not seeing them.

    Did you not read my last sentence? I said, gather up the ads and then have DDs adjust AoE. Seeing the DDs AoE isn't important because they should be putting AoE where you heard the mobs, not the other way around.
