The game is unplayable.

I'm in Australia, on average my ping sits at 250 even in Cyrodiil, but the game is playable, most of the time I don't even notice any lag.

For whatever reason, whether it's this "DDOS" I keep seeing mentioned ir whatever else...for the past 2 weeks I haven't been able to play. My ping is around 500-800 wherever I am, and I'm getting lag spikes that last 10 seconds, constantly.

I love this game to bits and right now it's all I want to play, but right now I just can't. Can I please get some sort of reassurance from ZOS or anyone else that this issue isn't going to be around much longer? Or that it's at least being worked on.

I refuse to believe I'm the only person getting affected.

I'm not in Aus but I know at least one of my Aussie friends got similar issue lately. It appears the route by which your traffic gets there got changed for some reason and is now going through Asia or something? I think he used some magic prog to manually choose a different route and that helped him cut his ping back to normal.

Aussie here too. I had no issues whatsoever in the past 2-3 weeks. Ping has been normal between 230-280ms

It's not being addressed. Zenimax just makes excuses. They know we won't leave. So if we won't leave why bother fixing it? A lot of us still keep spending money so there is no reason to fix anything. Why spend money on fixing an issue when people are still paying for a broken service?

Maybe when people stop buying Zenimax will fix it. After all why keep up a server for people to play on if they are not buying. So that means there are people who are paying for a sub standard service and things will not change till people stop paying.

FYI, ZOS did recently change their routing...but I believe for the better.

I've no idea how that affects people in Australia, though.

Me to. Mines also been pretty pissed for at least a couple weeks. Lag and ping spikes are the new norm. Come one ES6

Mine has been horrible as well I was sitting on 250-280 but the last couple of weeks have me at 350+ and when I get lucky maybe 330. Not a big change numbers wise but still annoying, and it just leads to a bad experience.
