I'm in Australia, on average my ping sits at 250 even in Cyrodiil, but the game is playable, most of the time I don't even notice any lag.

For whatever reason, whether it's this "DDOS" I keep seeing mentioned ir whatever else...for the past 2 weeks I haven't been able to play. My ping is around 500-800 wherever I am, and I'm getting lag spikes that last 10 seconds, constantly.

I love this game to bits and right now it's all I want to play, but right now I just can't. Can I please get some sort of reassurance from ZOS or anyone else that this issue isn't going to be around much longer? Or that it's at least being worked on.

I refuse to believe I'm the only person getting affected.

You need to do some traceroutes and see where the problem is. Attach them to a ticket and see if ZOS can assist with any suggestions, although discussing it on your ISP gaming or general technical forum would also be worthwhile.

^^ basically this. some certain ISPs (Optus and SkyMesh, maybe others) with the DDOS protection are routing our traffic to NA via HK/Asia which adds a lot of latency (extra 120ms for me compared to 'normal'). The ping-eating tools (BP, Mudfish, etc) do actually help in this specific case, but ideally ZOS or your ISP can fix it.

^^ Something like that will indicate what route your traffic is taking.

You're not the only one. I'm in Oz too and the lag for the last couple of weeks makes me think I'm on the NBN -actually I'm on ADSL2+ and won't see the NBN for 2 more years. I used to get latency in the 250s too - now I'm lucky to get 350, usually much higher. Makes playing damn near impossible. Come on mate give us a fair go!

It's the routing of your internet provider. Change provider or use VPNs, which may result in massive ping decrease due to changed routing.

In Germany it's 50-80 ping and I'm behind a WLAN Repeater.
