To me it’s about utilizing game mechanics that are known to not work correctly, like Malubeth in its heyday with these 16k procs. It’s not always a specific build though, I find the abundance of snares and roots to be more unfun than any specific build could be.

Cancer build; any build described by someone who's limited vocabulary leaves no other option than using a deadly disease to refer to something they're displeased with.

C'mon guys, there's literally no reason to keep throwing around diseases in a community where we have people suffering from them, only to make clear that you don't like or agree with something. If you hate a build or gear set, use your words to explain why you feel that way and/or why they shouldn't be used. If you can't come up with decent substitution for cancer, then maybe you should keep your opinion to yourselves. I'll get you started: this build is cancer overpowered / not fun to play against / terrible / too weak compared to.. / too strong compared to.. / unfair because [enter reasons here].

    There's no such thing.

Its just an excuse for getting frustrated by a better opponent.

For all that I hate the term, I think there are cancerous play styles, but not builds.

There are good builds, imaginative builds, builds that are VERY good at one thing, but also have weaknesses, builds that have no weaknesses but arnt particularly good at one thing.

Some builds are counters, some are countered.
Oh, that reminds me.. Shieldbreaker/bow is cancer.
    Minalan owes me a beer.

Actually I am glad for all people who stress their brains to develope meta, BiS, cancer or what else builds for maximum performance for specific roles, in certain situations or areas of the game (PvE/PvP).

Actually I rate those people not on the left but on the right side of the x-axis of the Gaussian IQ distribution in ESO, because you need some knowledge over game mechanics behind the UI curtain and often it goes ahead with some testing work. In many cases the average joe will profit from such builds and copy them in one or another variant. In many cases only in that way Zenimax will maybe ever see that some things might overperform or might not work at all or as intended and maybe dampen them down or fix them.

For me it makes no sense at all to disdain such builds and give them derogatory labels. Maybe it's the thing that it might be hard to realize that a guy was smarter as oneself or maybe it's the illusion that a digital game should provide some sort of socialism or a sort of personal feeling for fairness and not just ask the question for winning (PvP) or beating content (PvE) ?

Actually especially for the PvE area many players who developed great builds have already left the game and you notice the gaps they left behind.

Sometimes the prey turns and nips us... it's a small thing.

So let the snow flakes and unicorns dance alone until they melt or vanish from existence, we will finish up with those smart enough to stay in the glowing circle of love.

Agree this is the only thing on here that even sounds cancerous. The rest all just sound like brats who lost a fight to someone who 1) is better at on the fly skill casting, 2) maybe way better geared than you because they spent the time to farm that one rarer than rare piece and until the got trait they needed, and all important 3) knows their character, game mechanics, and how to time them correctly to get maximum effect.

I have watched my husband (@wyvern9973 on na server, loves to duel) who played beta and has been playing since take every available class and turn it into whatever he needed it to be just by doing a little research and spending time in dungeons and pvp with it to make it viable, ESO started on the premise be whatever you want with whatever you want, then players who got frustrated started posted thread complaining the such and such hits to hard, so and so is using heals during duels, and my favorite the tank has to many resources and can actually do there job of taking massive damage while staying alive by blocking. Elder Scrolls has always been about letting us play what we want whichever way we want, I die alot not gonna lie but I have never been a kiter, i seem to be a red circle magnet, and I refused to have a toon that is basically cookie cutter. Except your limitation and maybe ask that guy who defeated you what he's running with. you might just make a new friend.

"Cancer Build" means "I am to the left of the intelligence bell curve." Same as using fanboi terms like "meta," "overperforming," "BIS," etc. Ever since WOW, there is a lingo that dumb people who take video games a bit too seriously use to try to sound knowledgeable... about video games that aren't particularly competitive. "Cancer build" is part of that "People of Walmart" mentality.

lmfao. gtfo. idk what you're problem is. The jargon, lingo, lexicon, slang or whatever you want to call it is entirely normal and is meant to streamline communication. and it's not "over performing" its op. If you're going to criticize at least get it right.

P.S. "meta" is used in many other conceptual situations, maybe try googling it.

P.S.S. you're name is "buttaface" and you are calling other people dumb....you Person of Walmart.
