Although I technically agree with you about the "creepy" part, you could also apply your statement to the Dark Brotherhood and the Thieve's Guild. Personally, I think necromancy should be a separate skill line like the DB or Thieve's Guild, not its own class. That way I can make my current sorceror a necromancer as well.
