Hey ZOS could we get some horse love please?

Wow... that title just... doesn't sound right. I'm leaving it anyway! So...

For the longest time all we had were horse mounts. And I was hoping that would always be the case frankly. But you ZOS, like every other MMO, caved to the pressure for "exotic mounts" once you realized there was money to be made. Okay, I get it. I can even support it. But I will never buy one. UNLESS... you finally break down and offer us BETTER horses. And I don't mean freaky "nightmares" or undead horses or Twilight Sparkle ponies. When I look at the horses in comparison to the other mounts the lack of detail on them is really jarring. They look like the half thought out quickly shoved into the game things they are. They're dated next to the other mounts which are rendered soooo much better! And since we now know that you CAN make all sorts of mounts I am going to ask you to start introducing racial mounts. Don't just "reskin" the same horses you have now and throw some fancy tack on them. Please, NO. Make each of them a distinct breed AND give them racial gear! I'll give you a couple examples:

I fell in love with the camel for Redguards:



And it immediately made me think of THIS:



THIS is the horse Redguards should have!

With their love of heraldic pageantry THIS is the kind of horse Bretons should have:|



And some thinglike THIS for Nords.



In other words, give the horses distinct looks/breeds AND appropriate cultural gear. Please?

I am all for another horse type. A Clydesdale perhaps? I also love exotic mounts. I'm addicted...there... I said it.

Well, there's the Alliance War Horse that looks a lot like your example for the Bretons.



But, I really like your idea. I also think the model for the horse is kinda lacking. A new horse model for different breeds would be pretty cool!

Completely agree with this thread.

It would great to have racial horses, but even the ones we already have need vast improvement. Their conformation is entirely wrong, especially the hindquarters and hocks. Horses like that simply don't exist.

Other games manage to design far more realistic horses. Why not ZO$?

For my Argonion I bought Tessellated Guar, because his skin color is perfect for swamps. But I think that with armor by upgrade he won't look Argonian enough. Guar's armor is too imperial for me. So yeah, let us choose racial style armor for our mounts!

Some custom, dare this one say, horse armour - or more properly decorative ornamentation - would be nice

Sadly no one thought, "Hey people would actually want these in the colors of their choice." Notice you hardly EVER see them. Short of giving us the ability to DYE horse tack they need to offer a range of non-alliance colors.

This isn't a bad idea, though necessarily doesn't have to be horses, but each race should have different flavor of mount depending on thier zone.

Well you could argue that guar are the racial mount for Dunmer and possibly Argonians (tho I'd kill to see a "war wamasu" mount! LOL)and Senche for Khajit and I would certainly not disagree. But I think horses are pretty much it for the rest of the races.

A fancy bejewelled pony for the duchess, a wobbly donkey for the drunk, a silent shadowy horse for the thief - you do not want to know the images in the mind of this one for the jester horse - suffice to say they involve coloured ear thingies and cheese...

The most annoying thing about horses in ESO is that they have a small moment where they slow down after you jump. Its insanely annoying in Cyrodiil. When I switched to the bear mount for my orc, I never switched back. On the bear I can jump and remain running at the same speed when I am jumping or landing from a fall.

I've always liked horse mounts more, they're the most realistic. But they do seem sub par visually compared to other mounts. Horses do need some visual love!

Considering horses are my least favorite mount, I'm very glad that there are other options for us, because frankly, they look better.

Horses are the most plain and boring mounts.

There is nothing wrong with using them, but if the game only had horses, it would be far worse.

Strong "muscle car"-like horses for Nords and Imperials.
Gracile stallions for Redguards, Altmers and maybe Bosmers.
Etc.

Horses should be different not only at colours and armor ornaments.

This is about horses from Valenwood, so it's confirmed as Bosmer's racial mount. Just saying.

And this is exactly why horses need a visual overhaul. We know very well ZOS won't go back and improve the existing horses so the best we can hope for is the opportunity to give them more of our money for better ones.

Well since we know any and all new mounts will be cash shop items this probably won't be an issue, otherwise I'd be in total agreement. Just pray they don't stick them in the flippin' gamble boxes.

That's an awesome idea!

Even just updating the speed/stam/capacity visual upgrades for horses would go a long way. Compared to newer mounts like the senches and wolves, the horse accessories look... uhk...

I totally agree that it's time the horses got an upgrade. More realistic eyes would do a lot to make them look better. They aren't bad, but they do look a bit cartoonish compared to the amazing detail they give the senches and the wolves.

More natural horse colors would be very welcome. I'd welcome a bay horse. (Traditional clydesdale colors: chocolate brown with a black mane and tail, and a white stripe down its nose, and white feet.)
