There are a lot of people who multi-faction honorably and for perfectly reasonable reasons. We're not on your radar because we're not causing problems.

Your argument is that our play should be restricted because people are saying mean things in your zone chat, and you can't figure out any other way to deal with it.

No. Figure out other ways to deal with it.

That's not the only reason. If it were they could simply be ignored. And it would only be per server. Most honorable faction swapping reasons could probably be fixed by this too. What are some honorable faction swapping reasons?

there are a bunch of us with multiple characters...lots of characters...i have at least three in each faction...

I enjoy participating in the 30 day cp campaign on my server/platform because that's where the greatest number of competitive pvpers play; and, the potential for the largest AvAvA fights to occur - which is what I enjoy most about the game...

personally my greatest desire is for faction campaign balance because that leads to the best fights...and, lag aside - the more participants the better...

I'm a solo player and 100% invested in whichever faction I'm playing for at the time...

however, hands down - i am much more loyal to my characters than any "factions"...

I have little regard for cheaters/exploiters/bullies or any other folks intent on making pvp unbalanced/unfair/unpleasant...however - I'm old enough to realize that those personalities do exist, and, they will always find a way to be disruptive...

by the way - INTJs rule...your ID @INFJ made me smile and had me refreshing myself on MBTI and my favorite: the Keirsey Temperament Sorter - great stuff...love reading all the "good" things those personality identifiers tell you about yourself (we're all "special" :))...

can't hope for any kind of self actualization if you're not even self aware...

if you were only a little more reliant on thinking things through, rather than feeling things through - you'd be perfect :p

Though I do support a faction lock with changes available between campaign cycles, we need a pinned list of topics that everyone keeps bringing up so people can check before they post.

The game desperately needs tools to encourage competitive balance. PC/AD/NA is in very rough shape because it has the greatest number of random and casual players, so the faction is continuously farmed.

AD may have won the most recent Vivec campaign, but that win was more reflective of the will of our opponents to farm instead of playing the map.

There should be diminishing rewards based on how successful a faction is in terms of the overall kill/death ratio to discourage decent players from stacking on whichever faction is most successful/easiest to play at any given moment.

    preach...

I have to be honest - i myself play with a bit of an eye towards AP...i have an objective - my 30 day map provides a good bit of my monthly coin in trader sales and end of campaign payouts...

if you're actually paying attention to the score - it is frustrating to look at the map knowing that some folks are farming certain spots...people talk about it in chat...

I agree with the OP, locked one alliance per campaign.

However @INFJ you will get a load of people say no and I can't see any logical reason bar they too like to spy / cause trouble / or just flick to the winning side..

There are reason, playing with mates etc, however none.have really stood up

I'm not sure how "I like to play with friends on different factions" hasn't stood up?
When the game began, there was no function for playing with friends on different factions, in or out of Cyrodiil.
There was such a demand for it, that ZOS took off alliance locks on campaigns and gave us One Tamriel.
It's a game, people like to play games with friends.
Perhaps if you stop assuming everyone is just a spy or griefer and make some friends with cross faction people, you'd appreciate it too.

We are restricted from changing campaigns freely as we should be restricted within a campaign to a certain faction. I'm not saying we shouldn't be able to switch sides if we so choose. I'm saying it should have similar restrictions to switching campaigns. In Kyne specifically, it is horrific with the trolling. I understand the OP's reason for the post and there needs to be a solution of some kind.

    Agree completely with you Winnamine

And in addition to playing with friends it is also fun to play against them - I do this all the time and we exchange friendly taunts and whispers, or talk about how the fight went afterwards. In fact I feel that creates some of the funnest situations and I would not want to miss it.

Which faction I log in does not depend at all on the campaign score, but on who I plan to play with - raid with my guild, or play with a small group in the same or another faction, or solo on a specific character. There are good fights to be had on all sides quite independently of what the campaign score is!

Yes there was....you created a faction char for those friends and played with them. You homed the same server they did with that character, the only problem is you could not home that same server with other alliance chars. You always could play with friends in this game. Alliance locks kept the camps and populations stable, as the player base died off ZOS more than likely unlocked factions so they could present to shareholders independent logins to keep their jobs.....without some way to hide the fact that they were loosing players left and right I am convinced that motived the change and not some vocal group of forum posters.

If they are not going to lock accounts or even i.p. addresses for multiple account users per campaign duration, then just get rid of the scoring system, because it is really meaningless if this is the direction that they want things to go. There is no point in keeping a running score for the alliances when people aren't concerned with this and are just bouncing all over the place because they want good fights, or want to play with friends, or want to find the easiest ways to gain the most ap. Without loyalty there is no alliance, so quit pretending it means something. Or make it mean something and limit people to one alliance per campaign duration.

You can't just sacrifice what is good for the whole, or good for the game by doing what is good for the individual. There are too many individuals with too many selfish wants/agendas. If this is to be an alliance war then require some alliance loyalty, or just forget about it.

The faction hoppers claim their primary motives are to play with friends and help balance campaigns, but the reality is most play for whichever faction happens to be the easiest and most profitable to play.

AD is at 2 bars during primetime NA tonight as more and more players get tired of the endless farming by EP and DC organized groups and either switch sides too (maybe we can all join VE!) or don't bother PVPing.

This community may have the worst competitive spirit I have seen.

Why? There's no real asset control PvP with consequences in this casual game. Full stop.

Some people simply like to play different characters at different times as well. I have 4 sub-50 characters, a Nord, an Argonian, a Bosmer, and an Altmer. I like to play each of them depending on my mood because I they all have different play styles. The problem is that I am still restricted to different alliances by race. Restricting me to one alliance per server would be a huge turn off for me because of that.

So, since the more competitive PvP tends to be max level, why not simply say leave the sub 50 server able to be homed by all chars without restriction- but restrict max level servers to one faction per campaign. If you want to play with a buddy, fine- change home on all the other chars to other servers, and home it with the char you want to play with your buddies on that faction. Want to change in the middle, fine- 500k ap and five day lockout for successive changes.
