Locking Players To A Faction Per Server

INFJ
INFJ
✭✭
I'm not sure how many other servers experience this but I play Kyne (Blackwater Blade) and there is a huge issue of people logging into another faction and trolling and flaming the chats and causing chaos within a faction. They manage to prevent large groups from being formed and just later end up joining the other faction when taking or defending a keep. Ignoring them isn't an option because they're still influencing other players. I'm now starting to report but have little faith in that. I feel like the simpler solution will be to just lock players into a faction on a server for the rest of the campaign.

P.S for Zenimax. Doing this would make those people have to buy more copies of the game to continue to do it which gives you some financial incentive to implement something like this.

Long ago, the servers used to be locked to one faction only. However there was a way to bypass the lock in order to go to different alliance.

In order to do this is, you must have a friend or another person(let's say EP) to make your group for your new EP toon. but only out of Cyrodiil will this work.

Then you and the person group you to EP faction in Cyrodiil (Even though your from DC originally.) I'm to confusing.

Anyways, this is why ZOS decided to take out alliance lock. ZOS said it was impossible to fix at the time. Hence to this day tis why there is no faction lock at this time.

Eventhough I'm truly sorry for others on other faction to come unto your faction and cause arguments. (mostly leads to this, but will always take 2 or more to start) But remember as well not everyone are an equal, many whom do go on your alliance from different alliance will not cause trouble.

I also want to say don't try to report no more. Reporting is of no use and if it continues there would be a possibility of a suspension of your account. Not to mention, no offense but it will flood ZOS support and the real threat would have to wait.

Meaning others who are cheating and become invincible and attack and not dying. Then that report would be lost because it was flooded with your and others reports no offense.

However I sincerely hope you all do report if others Harass stuff that is against the terms of zos and ESO, then please continue to report.

    - Publius Scipio, August 1, 2017

I have to disagree to a point. I don't have honor, nor do I have Allegiance. Unless if it counts to me serving the alliance that I'm currently helping with and or when the current campaign in Vivec PS4 EU ends very soon.

Then I will pledge my Allegiance to the Aldmeri Dominion (or if I want to continue to help hurting faction someday, then I'll pledge my Allegiance to that faction until I return to Aldmeri Dominion if and when I not needed there anymore)

However the "respect in their hearts" is only one I disagree to a certain extent. I do have respect for other alliances, even as well when I'm basically a guest to that said alliance. I don't spy, nor do I wish to cause trouble in their zone. At the same time there will always be others whom might wish to cause trouble, just for attention as well as to show force in a way. In which case I think I see what you mean.

Im arguing for this to occur now.

I think faction locking should be in affect. Regardless of what any of you say, there is always that one faction you have more of an allegiance to. that one faction you are always partial to. maybe its because you have more friends there. maybe its because you just like the story line and the guilds that formed there. Either way, you have a preference.

    thats where you should stay.

you'll never give fully to any other faction. Thats detrimental to a competitive environment. Is ESO pvp competitive? some would very much like to think so.

People are in fact actually logging over to other factions with no intention of staying there just to get emp and drop the server, or one group will flip for emperor on AD, then switch to their EP to flip emp back, or log onto their DC because the leaderboard is easier to top but the whole time they are still in contact with their AD or EP true allegiance.

where is loyalty? where is honor? these are serious questions and Id argue that if there were real world implications, this is a very sad painting of the world we live in today.

When there was a choice in campaigns it made sense but now choice is extreemly limited. Heck, lowbie Cyro has one camping so locking an entire account to a faction would be limiting.

Not going to happen. Extreemly doubtful Zos would change it back. Besides, who pays attention to children flaming in some chat?

Like I said ignoring is useless in theory. The problem isn't at me being harassed but causing mayhem and leading people to wrong keeps and calling everyone a spy to stop big groups from forming.

I haven't seen a good point that favours not having faction lock per server. This would cut down on trolls in chat, increase immersion, and overall create a better PvP experience.

Who knows them logging in and out to different characters could be also a minor reason that long loading screens keep affecting us.

Appreciate those points @Joy_Division i guess I can see ways round most of those without it.

And from my side the harm it has done to PvP outweighs the honest people like yourself. Too many scrolls run off in wrong direction, spies etc trash gameplay.

I think there's enough campaigns to play different ones with different alliance toons and mates etc.

But then I am 100% pact, and appreciate not everyone plays like that. My hatred of AD runs too deep and the TrIxy blues too ha.

I mean locking to a PvP server not the megaserver. It would still be possible to play with them in other servers. And this would prevent zerging after the campaign ends. Most of the time game winning zergs happen when people abandon their alliance and just join the most populated one at the moment.

SOooo this isn't just part of the game. These players are just Spys. They gather information on troop movements, what is being targeted and also cause division, confusion and suspicion, just to name a few. What we need is a way to locate capture and execute these spys with perhaps a three hour lockour as punishment.

They just need to more reactively reward more AP (a lot more) for playing for the lowest pop faction and severely reduce AP and points the more populated you are compared to who you are attacking and update to every 5 minutes. Discourage PvDoor and encourage PVP as well as allow us to change factions on any character once every hour in order to self regulate.

I keep saying it without much support but I really believe it could make for a better experience

That's not the only reason. If it were they could simply be ignored. And it would only be per server. Most honorable faction swapping reasons could probably be fixed by this too. What are some honorable faction swapping reasons?
