I believe the guild tabard system could do with a complete overhaul.
The design could use an overhaul as it currently looks like an apron.
I mean, who would be fearful of angry apron-wearing, weapon-wielding mob? They only look like a bunch of hospitalised nutheads running around and I find that funny in a warzone.

Put simply, I don't care. I'm only in guilds to sell or because I happen to like the members or GM. I have absolutely no loyalty to any guild I've been in and only stay because it allows me to sell or to chat to people who I happen to like.

I'm glad you're in guilds that suit you and found people you like. Thanks for taking the time to read and comment.

There should be options imo. Not just a guild Tabard. But also a guild banner man flag, or a cloak. Also options to include said guild rank as part of title.

Like for example a rank in my guild is Herald. So the title would show Herald *insert name* <of Wolf and Raven>

That's an awesome idea! B) This is a great way to reward ranking members and also encourage guild members to move up the ladder.

Guildies need incentives to wear their tabbards, but I as the guild leader take the initiative to create as many as possible. Some in game ones would make life easier. I'd also like a guild CAPE since I'm GM. Kthx

I believe in-game incentives would not only be a great addition to the guild system but would also go a long way to foster guild pride and representation. Should capes be a "GM only" feature? (jokes) :D

Yes. As long as all you GMs are forced to wear the "blanket tied to your ankles" cape that came with the Breton Hero costume lulz

I don't have the pleasure (or displeasure) of owning this costume but with your description I might not be missing out on much. If capes are brought in I hope they aren't like that! Thanks for the laugh! : :D

I wish I had an option to hide the actual tabard when I am wearing only my armour.

A costumes hides the tabard, but we still represent our guild with the name underneath our psn name (in my case, being on ps4). I'd like the option to have it this way when I am not wearing a costume.

Yeah, I hope they bring in this change. I would like to represent my guild without having to embarrass myself. :D

What's the point of crafting gear in a favourite style that took months to farm or £££$$$ to buy, playing around with the colours, that took many months to earn (most drop sets and costumes can easily be made to look good at the dye station too) and getting the look and feel of your character just right, to then cover it with a tabard 'designed' by someone else !

Tabards are primarily for PVP guild raid groups and events.

Even then the majority clash and are ugly as hell as the tabard creation system is limited in the first place.

Beside the other great ideas listed, it would be great to offer players other ways to display your guild haraldry. I've already seen ideas heraldry on shields, capes, and other equipment, but I think it would be cool to have guild emotes (like planting a flag in the ground for your guild or waving one above your head... the planted one would disappear if you move... to prevent flags being left all over the game). Those emotes could be tied to guild rank.

This is another awesome suggestion! B) Emotes are cool and all but guild emotes...yes, please! Having them tied to guild ranks is a good idea as it rewards ranking members whilst encouraging lower members to climb the ladder.

Tbh, the tabbard system is meh. If I wanted to look like a character wearing spandex I'm all ears but I don't.

I wear a unique costume so these would get me to change that in some way for or another.

    - guild banner
    - guild cape
    - guild costume
    - guild dye with guild logo

Yes to your suggestions! No to spandex! :D

I would like a cape style (caugh LOTR style ) maby with available hood and them to harmonize better with costumes.
    @ZOS_GinaBruno

Hoods would be cool! B) Taking your great idea one step further: Perhaps there should be a variety of hoods, helms and helmets to help cater to the various character styles? Possibly even a crown for GM? Perhaps higher guild ranks would unlock increased variety and adornments. All purchases would go to the guild bank.

As I highly doubt that ZOS would take the time to improve the tabard designs, I would at least like the ability to hide them while still showing the guild name along with my player nameplate. I usually hide it with a costume, but sometimes I might experiment with a motif.

Like someone else previously said it covers up the motifs that we want to show off. Even a cape might cover up the character's behind, which is personally an important factor when I pick a motif for my female characters to use. The only way for the Guild Tabard system to merge appropriately with the motif system without compromising either is for the ESO design team to go through each individual motif and pick where to place a guild symbol on it.

I like the idea of guild tabards, but I think players should be allowed to dye it so the player doesn't have to worry about missing up their own color sceme. Also, I believe people would wear them more if there were benefits to it. Like earning guild prestiege when worn in group activities, like dungeons, trials, etc...

I have spent many many thousands of gold on my characters outfit, and hundreds of hours on unlocking dyes I'm not going to cover that with an ugly guild tabard (especially when most guilds choose the most obnoxious colors possible for their tabard)

    Suggestions for improvement
-tabard goes over armor instead of flattening it
-make the material not so shiny
-more options on how to rep your guild
    -surcoats
    - patches
    -shields
    -banner on mounts
-a real reason to wear it like bonus XP or something

I would prefer a back banner or something.. Maybe a guild design shoulder armor piece? For me personally, the biggest reason to not wear the tabards, is that they somehow clash with my character looks.. It could be the colors, the design, the general feel of it together.. If it don't work for me visually, I won't use it

Under title on the character sheet we should have a guild slot so we can have our guild displayed. Having to wear a tabard to allow for the guild to be shown is a very outdated choice in my opinion.
Or, I guess, allow for the guild tabard to be hidden on armour or work with more armour types and not do that weird blackout thing.

An alternative location for the guild colors/logo would address several issues. A character in a costume could display it on a shield, for example. I'd like it available on a banner as a furnishing, too.
