@Rohamad_Ali Well poop...guess I gotta go farm some salt so I can start handing it out too! LOL
I am not a PVP'er and have never claimed to be; I have no PVP sets, have no clue what to do while PVP'ing, and honestly the only time I ever do PVP are in special events like this or to telvar farm with my guild. While running with my guild tonight doing a little AP farming in IC we notice a couple of gankers following us. I am assuming they saw a big group, probably 12 of us or so, and figured it would be easy pickin's to cut off a few stragglers. My main is a tank so I was running in my old PVE tank gear (I'm looking at you Footman's and Hist Bark!) and decided to be the last one through the doors to help protect the group.
A couple of times they try, in vain, to pick me off but it doesn't work; I am able to keep alive until a couple of my group can come back through and help out. Towards the end of the run we were trying to head down a sewer entrance to head back to base. I was bringing up the rear as usual and all of a sudden 4 AD and 2 DC (the same 2 DC gankers) pop out of nowhere and start hammering away at me. These are all CP630 players, assuming they are set with at least some PVP gear, and none of them could take me down. Rest of my group popped back up the ladder and proceeded to mow through them.
Let me reiterate; I was in PVE gear and 6 players could not kill me. What they could do though was whisper me and tell me what a PVP noob zergling I was! I whispered back agreeing completely with them and applauded them for their ability to see I was not a PVP star. Insert more salty comments from them directed at my crappy PVP playstyle...insert more agreement from me that I know nothing of PVP. The last whisper I got told me I should be ashamed 'to be proud of my zergling self.'
The last whisper I sent was "I am neither proud or ashamed of my zergling ways...but killing you was sure a lot of fun!"
I don't think I knew how seriously players in this game took their PVP until this event. Wow...just wow! Anyways, thought I'd share my experience and ask if anyone had anything similar happen to them?

idk...
Bethaney, Champ, you are both well-known PVP-haters... I'm sure you've both had some bad experiences at some point - but you are wrong to think that its all like that.. (unless perhaps it is where you play... Are you both US-based perhaps?)
Certainly on PC-EU, in 2 years playing ONLY PVP, I have had maybe 2 hate tells, and seen maybe 2 arguments in zone chat (I don't group).. I've had a LOT more friendly chats with my opponents.

I've seen a damn sight worse than that in the month I spent in PVE trying to grind undaunted mettle! Rage quitting, vote-kicking.. I mean what worse can you do in an online game than exclude someone from your group? I ended up finishing it by soloing dungeons instead - it was just so much more relaxing.
To the OP... There are a LOT of PVEers playing PVP right now. So much so that I havn't been able to get through the door to my usual home (Vivec). How do you know that these 2 salty gankers weren't PVEers trying to get their 50 killing blows..?
I suspect they were because any experienced PVPer would know to not try to gank the tank. Especially after failing once already.
Any average PVPer knows that they lose 50% of fights.. Those that can't deal with losing quit PVP and go back to PVE-land pretty quick. And I can tell from the post that these 2 are NOT in that rare top 10% of PVPers who rarely lose.
Even those who are in the top 10%, well, those are the players who constantly challenge themselves, putting themselves in situations where they are vastly outnumbered and there is every chance that they will lose. They know that when they lose its because they made a mistake... So don't really get salty with their opponents either..

You are absolutely right, I have no clue whether they were true PVP'ers or just playing around for AP like I was. I do know the only other person I have whispered so far during this event was one player who did the laugh emote over my body when I died due to fall damage. We had quite a laugh about it and went our merry ways. Yes, there are bad apples in PVE as well but I have not experienced the sheer quickness of rage there as in PVP. Usually PVE'ers will give it a go in a dungeon, trial, WB, etc a couple of times before they tell you to shove off...but that's just my experience.
