Spell Wall

Spell Wall IV

Cast Time: Instant

Target: Self

Duration: 7 seconds

Ultimate Cost: 100

Reinforce your shield, allowing you to automatically block all attacks at no cost and reflect all projectiles cast at you for 7 seconds.

As I understood, the bold part above "automatically block" equated to no damage being taken. But while doing tests for the viability of reflecting Oblivion damage I thought that the heavy attack from a lighting staff was making it through. Now I'm okay with a heavy lightning (and possibly resto too) staff attack not being reflected, it is technically a channel and so not a projectile. However what's funny is the health dropping during the channel. It looks as though there is a heal attached to the ultimate because as my health dips during the channel, it's back to full when the channel ends. I realize that this might just be the addons not being able to identify what to do with the lightning staff heavy attack and reporting this damage, but why would it partially heal me during the channel? You can see what I'm talking about in the video:

Automatically Block does not mean zero damage taken, it means it will block for you. Block only mitigates a base of 50% damage. What is happening is that the effects of the sets and the enchantments only occur if you actually get hit, anything that is reflected does not count as you being hit, but anything not reflected but instead blocked will count as a hit and the effects will then happen. Absorb Magicka is basically a damage shield and will count as you being hit, and same thing will occur.

That makes sense, I thought I was misunderstanding it. Thanks for the clarification. I suppose my health regen was enough to heal the damage that got through. It looks like the biggest chunk that got in was 387. Clearly not Oblivion damage. That seems odd.

Seems a bit odd how it is treating oblivion.

But I can understand why the lightning light attack was reflected but the heavy was not - its all in the word 'projectile'. Beams are not projectiles.

The only thing that is weird is why it is not reflecting the oblivion damage on heavy attacks, but considering Dual Wield Heavy Attacks are bugged and don't proc any enchantments maybe the same is true here, will test that on PTS later. The knight slayer not counting can be attributed to you probably not counted as a player in regards to that set, it probably only see enemy players since its specifically a PvP set. Not sure how I feel about that.

There appears to also be a bug with Torug's on the back bar. I verified that my accomplice has an inferno torug's pact infused back bar. His Oblivion damage was buffed by the infused enchant but was not being buffed by Torug's on his back bar. This must have been an anomaly we tried to reproduce the bug but both bars did the correct amount of damage today.

Not sure if I understand you correctly, and this is most likely my fault for not sharing the baseline info. But Knight Slayer did behave normally when it wasn't reflected. In other words I took damage as expected.

That post is kind of Cluster F to read cause of the weird way it looks, what do you mean with the Torugs? Also I mean when Knight Slayer was reflected, you said it did not deal damage to the caster, and I meant that is probably cause it doesn't count the caster as a player and it only works on players.

It looked like Torug's pact wasn't being applied to the back bar.
