If this game didnt have animation cancelling the combat would be lackluster at best. It allows for a much more quick paced feel and allows players to have something they can always improve on. The game has been built around animation cancelling as far as end game pve content goes. That being said, i do think the devs should implement a few tutorials on the subject for newcomers to use.
I could never play on PC, as there is too much go on in form of Macros and Add ON's that frankly seem like cheating (Miat) that said even on console the skill gap with AC is pretty big for a while I've felt it would be better off without it in DPS terms but i cant see a way round it without wrecking combat I.e. You can cancel a skill to block etc.
The problem is between a good cancelled and bad there is a huge DPS gap. That should be reduced.
Again tho if you aren't fussed about Vet Trials, its not so important. A bit in PvP but lag and proc sets do more harm

I AC, im very good at it too, but that doesn't mean I like it. I think it just promotes button mashing.
that being said, its too late in ESO life for them to change it at this point. They designed most of their hard mode endgame content around doing it (You won't have passable DPS on hard mode stuff without doing it) If they were going to fix it, it was something they should have fixed in the late alpha or early beta iterations of the game before release.
That boat has sailed, best get used to it being in the game now. it is what it is.

"Here in his shrine, that they have forgotten. Here do we toil, that we might remember. By night we reclaim, what by day was stolen. Far from ourselves, he grows ever near to us. Our eyes once were blinded, now through him do we see. Our hands once were idle, now through them does he speak. And when the world shall listen, and when the world shall see, and when the world remembers, that world will cease to be. - Miraak

can't react to something you can't see (PvP)
people with *** computers (and cant afford to buy a new one) struggle to find the timing
it creates a class of people who just say l2p and points to videos by Fengrush or Sypher about AC-ing
I try to figure it out, but it's hard to implement when I don't even get a chance to react to other players who are capable with it (and my *** computer and lag) <- which is also the typical excuse

Weaponswitch or block cancel skill animation;
Weaponattacks cancelled from skills.
Very easy without makros, but you need a bit practise..
What good does block cancelling actually do beside give your character muscle spasms and a floating yellow shield? Isn't the global cooldown for every skill use 1 second regardless of whether you cancel part of a skill animation with another skill, light attack, block or bar swap? I play stamina characters, so maybe I'm missing something. edit: Seems like block cancelling is a thing in PVP after looking it up....
To the OP, it's even simpler than that. First get a really laggy connection. Then use light attack / skill / light attack / skill etc. If your hands can mash a button or mouse 2 times per second while ignoring what you see on the screen you're all set for the final effect, a spazzy barrage of attacks. And no it doesn't look natural at all.
Why are people still complaining about animation cancelling.
From a pvp perspective, if all you do is react and are not proactive, the better players will kill you. Animation canceling doesnt change the speed at which you can get hit by a move.
