People been telling me that I have to spend my red tree points differently or I won't get ironclad, ele defender, or hardy. What do I do?

Split between ele defender, hardy, thick skinned and ironclad. That will basically do fine. You can go a little heavier in ironclad than the others but the difference will be small and if you are magicka you can place about 15-20 points into Bastion but no reason to go overboard.

With Morrowind each tree is heavily front loaded. Also, for spots that give a % increase in whatever make sure to go just past an even number. 10.9% give you only 10%. 11.05% gives you 11%. Basically. For flat increases it does not matter iirc.

Edit: ironclad reduces damage from anything that is not a dot.

After the first 50 points the benefit drops drastically. An example, with CP that can increase something by 15%, 75 points will get you 14% and 25 points for that last 1%.

Edit: when you go to move your points around play with a couple areas and you will see how fast the benefit reduces as you put points in.

You're talking about jump points (discussed here). OP is referring to a different issue.

Basically, you need to allocate your CP points to hardy/elemental defender before you put points into ironclad or you won't be
getting the full benefit of the ironclad passive.

To be clear, I think this guys is merely stating the order to allocate the points, not to spend all points into ele and hardy and whatever is left goes into Ironclad.

I had to read it again to understand because it can appear to be suggest the ladder.
