Are BOTS going to ruin ESO like they did with linage 2

Any system is hackable, or at least open to macros. Items such as the CronusMAX allow complex macros and can even be use to run scripts on both Xbox one and PS4, and are virtually undetectable.

Bots dont exist on console first of all. You cannot have a programme on console doing your work for you so thats out the equation already,

And if they did exist, all they would do is lower the prices of materials and make our lives easier anyway lol

This. Show bots some love. Next time you encounter a bot, take a moment to thank it for farming cheap mats for you.

Most of you are still young and not interested in having your own bots. I was like you once. But trust me, once you have your own bots, you will think differently. It's like they're part of your account. How time flies... Just 2 years ago they were some noob chars acting on a click macro. They couldn't even outperform the crafting hireling. And now they're fully automated war machines that kill everything in their path without leaving a single Columbine behind.

ZOS would never take my bots away from me! They understand the special relationship between a man and his bots.

If you haven't seen them. then you are not playing the game. I regularly see them when doing my crafting survey maps in Shadowfen and Rivenspire. Any place that has a large number of creatures (zombies, wolves, skeever, dreugh, etc.) that can be easily farmed for mats, gold, and xp.

Think part of the issue is that back at launch they was run by gold sellers so they had idiot names and all looked the same.
Now they are player run making them harder to spot unless you hang around for some time.
Its a bit hard to see if its players grinding or bots unless they behave weird, either too organized or one guy hanging back stabbing air all the time. My proof of bots was that they did not react on dolmen.
In fact my first thought was that it was an dolmen group grinding random mobs until dolmen respawned.

I'm not saying ZOS ban bots at a decent pace, nor am I saying that they have means to stop new comes coming in but they do act when they have a means to do so.

The issue is that our tickets seem to go nowhere unless we get them escalated. Which is why I keep bringing up how ZOS need to streamline things.

They're also not a company that addresses things and tells people when they've taken action which only goes to make the view they do nothing even worse.

I believe they care and they do want to stop it, I just don't think their current tools are efficient enough. We also as a community have to start working on putting pressure on people not buying gold etc. in the first place.

Scripts are not bots, and I suspected you could use an scripted controller.
You can use it to drop an AOE all the time, has seen that on pc, you could probably make an single node farming script.
Animation canceling and scripts work well together but that is another story.
However you could not make an script to run around, you could probably make one who rotated you a bit did AoE and some self heal and so on but running require some sort of cheat engine getting data from game.

I don't know how many there are, but yeah, theres bots. Wardens particularly. At one dolmen in EP lands I saw 7 wardens all wearing the same gear with generic names just standing still until the dolmen dropped then they fought but it was erratic... You could tell it was bot and not a person.

Although I always try to give benefit of the doubt, one player I thought was a bot I whispered to and they responded right back, he/she knew I thought they were a bot so they carried on a convo for a minute then we each said have fun.

I recommend whispering first, if that doest work say something in general chat, like "Are you a bot" no response, Report. Let ZoS do their job.

In EVERY popular MMO you'll find bots. If it upsets you that much, you probably will wanna go find a less popular MMO that notbody would bother botting

If we do a normal report it can take a week or more for it to be dealt with, however if we report a bot and give a ticket number ZOS escalate it and boom, bot banned.

Streamlined systems, education of the player base (stop buying gold FFS!) and we can make this a winning war.

Yeah, handling the ticket before it starts celebrating birthdays and learning new words would be cool.
