How long to wait in Group Finder?

This is a serious question. Yes, I know the Group Finder is broken and being worked on. But does anyone have advise as to how long I should stay in queue before leaving as a DPS. Its usually a horrible wait but I can get in eventually. But these last few days my timer can reach 3 hours. After 3 hours I usually reque and sometimes will get an instant invite in the first 30 seconds. So I thought to myself heck with this, time to roll a healer and avoid waits altogether. I did and sometimes the wait is 30 minutes or more sometimes. Sometime instant. This is mostly during prime time hours also for my time zone.

When would you guys recommending to reque with my DPS? How long do you guys wait till reque? Or is it so broken now, is it just a waste of time and should I spend my time trying to put one together like the old days?

I only queue as tank or healer, and if I'm in the queue for more than 3 minutes I drop and re-queue.

I play DPS and if it goes more than an hour, hour and a half tops, I'll re-queue. Usually I get in pretty quick on the second attempt. Seems to me it glitches out sometimes and "forgets" you're in line.

I queued for a specific dungeon last night as a dps and it took 15 minutes. After reading all these threads, I was expecting a huge wait, especially since i picked one dungeon only

Apparently I have been sitting in those broken queues way to long. I think i will cut it back to an hour and a half like Uzbachchi.

Um... it's fixed, in fact go use while everyone thinks it's not. Most issues are fixed just need a stronger influx or people queuing on healer or tank. Got instant queue for my do and waited 15 to 30 mins before that.

P.S It tends to queue you with people in your level range. I noticed I tend be queued with at least one person within range of 300cp as within the group, more often than not cp 630 thou sometimes leveling an alt.

Many have offered good advice.

Queueing for a specific dungeon can also lengthen the wait if it's not a pledge that say. You already know queueing as a dps can lead to a wait.

I'm bewildered as to why ZOS stated that they fixed the Decline problem.
U was trying to form a group for 5 minutes.
Tank healer dps dps, everybody was accepting the formation, yet the system was STILL saying "declined, top of queue"

DPS is always going to take a lot longer than anybody else. Like 80% of the people play as DPS. Sure not everyone is queuing, but you need 2 dps to each tank and when only a few people play as tank or healer (mostly because we get tired of the verbal abuse from DPS that screw up) we choose not to queue.

Another thing you could do is try to search in a zone, should get in something quick that way.

Here lately the que ' s have been very long even for my healer. The other day I got added and removed from group at least a dozen times. Left que went back in got a dungeon and then nothing.

Had to make a manual group of three dps'ers and one healer last night because queue refused to work.. we got thru the dungeon but it's still annoying.

You can't tell me there weren't like two other people on PC NA that were queued at prime time.

For dps it can be a wait considering most people are dps as to what role if your a dps you should be queueing as a dps not a healer other wise you won't have a healer in that group.

Just to be clear, I would never Queue as a healer as a DPS. I hate that. I was saying I actually made a new toon that was a healer and still hitting some wait times.

I wouldn't say it is fixed in any way. Not with all the errors with teleporting to dungeons, someone declined, unable to travel to player, queue is full, etc.

Is this new? Because I'm low 500s and I mostly get people 250 or under, and a whole lot of sub 20s lately.

maybe there is a bug that the second quee attempt finds the group more quickly

I wasn't implying that you were i stated that because there are people that does do that sorry about the confusion.

NP. Let it be known we do not like dps who queue as healers! 100% Agree.

When I que as a tank or healer I find a group almost instantly. I actually do use tank or healer by the way. As for my DPS characters, and I never que as tank/healer with those, it takes me on average about 15 minutes to find a group.

Here's a tip though. Find a buddy who is a healer or tank. Group with him/her, and have him/her que instead of you and the GroupFinder will find you another DPS and tank in a jiffy. That's what I do with my friend. We both have DPS and support roles so we switch.
