Magika Templar Imperial Tank

I created my first tank and I am level 30. I am looking for suggestions for skills and armor sets for a Magika Templar Imperial Tank. Looking for PVE end game but would like to dabble in PVP group play. I have searched for a morrowind build for this and can't find one I like or is helpful. I have no problem tanking or staying alive in Random dungeons. I use the heavy armor resistance buff and the light armor shield when I need it. Ok go for it.

    i m bit of a noob so...
dont think u wl just b able to run only magic as a tank dont u use stam to block roll dodge and break away? but i dont know couse i m an argonian dragonight sword and shield (pure tank)lol
its like i dont think u could build a stam healer maybe it could work.
Do u mean speckin only in magic ? like all 64 (or how many u get). Couse as a tank i dont see where u can get the rest of health from.
    i m lvl 350 with 34k health
...and bosses on mazzantun will one shot me still with 30k/35k resistance phis/spel.... LoL

Good to know, I was gonna put points in stam to get about 17 to 20k total, then most of the rest in magika, and use my armor and jewelry to get health and use potions for added health. That way I can self heal and have high health. Is there a resistance cap on ESO?

Magicka Tanks are doable. You will need stam with sword and shield, but you really only need to block the heavy attacks, so you can manage with a small pool if you learn the mechanics.

Using a frost staff can help too, since that changes the block resource while holding an ice staff to magicka with a passive.

With changes to the way resources work, being an effective magicka templar tank is harder than ever in PvE (at least at the highest levels). On the PvP side however, it is more than viable. You'll be a little disadvantaged as an Imperial (as opposed to being a Breton or Argonian)- but it probably isn't a big deal.

For PvE tanking, check out Woeler's Channel- He only supports DK and Warden tanks (and rightfully so at a high level), but you can gain a lot from listening to his explanation of the intricacies of tanking: https://woeler.eu/

For PvP I would look at the Lich and Rattlecage sets. I think you'll find a lot here in terms of tankiness, though your magicka sustain will be lacking somewhat as opposed to a second light armor set.

Hope this helps! Feel free to contact me with any questions.

    P.S. Don't use a frost staff.
