Yes, because of no real reason.
Bought a laptop last summer and picked up another copy of the game since it was on sale.

I use the account to share undaunted daily missions when leveling new characters on main account. Recently started to turn all the characters into WW and vamps so I can spread my disease as I please.

Might play more actively on the account if I ever get bored of my main account.

Just the one, I have a spare gold code laying around but never bothered using it.

I am mostly a one character person so I haven't filled my account to warrant more accounts and there isn't much benefit in dual boxing ESO like some other games.

Well, what happened for me was that I eventually forgot the password to the e-mail account I used for the first (PC) account. Then I forgot my eso password. Then my laptop broke down and I switched to console with a brand new account.

Other: Because a second account was a lot cheaper than a banker. I used to mail crafted training gear to my second account and back, so my characters in the Wailing Prison could pick it up. For the grind. But that I don't do anymore. Nowadays I use my second account to reserve names and test ideas in the character creation.

OG pc character transfer to both consoles (that striped senche is sexy af tho) so I have my copied characters on ps4 n xbox1 while maintaining my pc account for access to pts only. I currently play both ps4 n xbox1 consistently n have all classes including Warden at lvl 50 on both platforms. I got irl friends split between both consoles so I play on both depending whos online. :)

Yes, because of some drama so I had to make another.
I originally bought the game on G2A for €10.99 instead of the version on steam which costed €50.99 at the time. But when they anounced the first Dlc (IC) I wanted to get some crowns so I could pick it up. Turns out: buying through G2A counts as a third party seller so I wasnt able to get any crowns to buy upcoming dlc's or other content.

    So I made a new one :)

I have multiple accounts primarily because of the awful trade and guild system in this game. I use one account primarily to do trading on and feed it things to sell from my main account that is RP and PvE guilds oriented. The other reason is that, as a roleplayer, I use the alt account to create "red shirts" for story purposes.

My ping is 280, and tried eso on my notebook last year in a trip to NA, where the ping was 110.

I gave up PvP after that, when I realized the enemy players can cast abilities, swap weapons 2 to 3 times faster and a lot more responsive on everything. There is no way to be competitive, especially I am playing a melee build.

Now, I go back to PVE and do some writs everyday.

I do have mule account, and since the sharpened nerf, I will have to buy another one, just to store non BoP weapons with sharpened/infused/precise trait. Never know what would be next brilliant idea from Zos...

Since almost all my mules on alt acc are lvl 3-4, I am safe from equipping BoE gear by accident.

Zos, give us way to merge or link accounts, so we can use any type of gear freely. Or just give us more character slots. I would buy 6 more slots asap.

Yes, I've heard of dual boxing, for example it's rather popular in black desert online since they have attendance events where you get free $$$ and boss items. But totally but an ESO thing.

I play on console so it is a little more difficult (though not impossible I know) to bounce between accounts. So no, I only have one.

However if I were on PC, I will openly admit that I would have a second account for nothing more than storage. Though, if I were on PC I would not play this or any other MMO, so the point is rather trivial.

As far as needing more toon space? Na, I have a max level with every class but still only play my main 90% of the time

I almost don't want to say how many I have. I have my "main account" where all my crafters live. When I ran out of character slots there because I am a sick altoholic I got a second account. Then I decided I wanted to recreate all my Skyrim characters, and my Oblivion characters, you can never have enough mules for all those unbound sets and when a whole account is cheaper than one additional character slot...you get the picture.

The term "red shirt" comes from Star Trek where, more often than not, any character you had not seen before, wearing a red shirt, would be killed before the episode was over. LOL So now in roleplaying circles it means a character specifically created to advance a story/plot and that is very likely going to die/be killed by other players before the story/plot is over. I've had ONE red shirt surprise me by surviving due to the actions of the players and he's actually become one of my regular characters. He's still kind of a jerk and a total edgelord but I love him. LOL
