what can i do about this? the bank is now charging me for overdraft fees and I have not even played this game in a month. Can i get a refund for this month of eso plus membership?
You could contact ZOS for a refund, but I don't know their policy regarding those.. There is a 'Billing' category with an option for ESO+ purchasing issues, so I'd certainly give it a shot. Best to take it up with ZOS before going to your bank, though. I read stories of people who had similar problems and ordered their bank to charge back, but that prompted ZOS to block or ban their account since they consider that theft/fraud. And once that happens, it's a real hassle to get it reversed.
(If you don't plan on ever playing the game again then that may or may not be a problem to you.. but still)
Maybe go ahead and cancel your subscription as well?
Otherwise you'll have the same problem next month (or whenever yours is renewed).
This was obviously your fault, so good luck getting a refund....especially from ZOS.
it was, but i managed to get a refund from eso+ and got the overdraft fees removed.
Glad this worked out for you, but I hope it was a lesson in monitoring your service subscriptions. So many things are auto-renew these days, and most of those companies won't be so quick to refund you. They will put the responsibility squarely on you to cancel the service before it renews, or to have sufficient funds when it does renew.
And it's always best to tie your renewing services to a credit card, or separate from your primary account. The worst case scenario is not being able to pay your rent or other essential bills because your Netflix, gym membership, and whatever else you forgot you signed up for at some point sucked your bank dry.
