There are also posts suggesting that more Morrowind-related content lies in waiting, which, if true, would be gated as well.
And then you'll have to buy Morrowind to be able to buy those Morrowind-related DLC's.
One of the two of us definitely has gone mad. It only remains to define whether this one is the whole world or just me.

the only differance I can see between wrothgar and Vanderfell is the addition of a new class (that and a new toutorial area but.. thats not really worth discussing) if ESO defines each CHAPTER by putting out a new class, I'll let it be

The Battleground mechanic is also part of the Chapter. The new battle ground update requires you have the chapter. I think we are going to see this, chapters recieve updates like the base game as the real difference from DLC which only gets bug and balance patches.

Nothing has been added to the base game since DLCs were added. Change yes, but no meaningful content. Housing is not content for sure.

Taking your one example, the housing update was additional base game content in which 39 unique player homes were added, some of which were obtained through new quests - player housing having never been in the game before - with more than 2000 furnishing items, including target dummies, furniture crafting, 4 new motifs, achievements and titles, and the introduction of master writs and a new currency.

If you don't call that 'content' then really I have no idea what you're on about mate.

I could go on and on and on but really what's the point? The whole thread is a waste of time. Cheers.

Not really content. As I stated earlier you obviously have an extremely low bar for what you consider content.

Come on now. We all have a pretty low bar. We are still here ain't we?

"DLC" is an acronym that needs to be nuked from orbit. "Downloadable" is one word, assuming it's actually in the OED.
Even on the internet, clear communication is important; it can be the difference between "helping your Uncle Jack off a horse" and "helping your uncle jack off a horse"; the difference between "knowing your s***" and "knowing you're s***".

I remember when you paid a sub and additional $40-$60 for each expansion, large or small, and there were no exceptions. Stop crying about this crap already.

I remember when someone told you something, you didn't assume they were lying. How times change.

This is a fun game, what else do we remember?

You killed the point you were trying to make with that second sentence. *sigh* The base game did get content updates, but it doesn't matter. What's important is that DLC didn't. What you buy on release day is what you'll always have (barring small additions like new motifs). Not so with Morrowind. However, this content update was only for PvPers, which leaves a massive group of Morrowind buyers with no new content they'll actually notice, so I wouldn't be excited just yet.

I never suggested Zos hadn't updated actual existing content so your comment doesn't hold. Updating content (aka making some tweaks) is extreemly different than actually creating new playable content. Night and day.

One is for free to ESO plus and it works and the other is a scam without content and half of it don't work.

Its not ZOS making you pay for this stuff. That small team has nothing to do with pricing. Its Matt Firor and his Zenimax Overlords. Pete Hines? total crook. just watch 5 mins of any interview hes ever done.

seriously, stop blaming the guys just trying to make a living at ZOS.

There is no difference. It was a blatant money grab. Wrothgar has way more content and use than morrowwind. I want my money back. Morrowwind was a bad joke and battle grounds don't even work.

    Indeed.
Orsinium DLC is way better than Morrowind "Chapter" in every way...more content, better quests, voiceovers and extras.
Morrowind=Bugged NO CP Battlegrounds, 1 trial(very few will actually complete or try it), 1 class(badly designed) and many easy quests with no depth.
I was hoping for much more content and higher quality.
Morrowind was a huge disappointment for me.
Morrowind is a DLC, only named Chapter to make more money.

Before they anounced the feature set , i vehemently defended zos for the first time post launch for this decision to release an expansion.i was under the impression zos would enrich and emerge the gameplay . What we got was a dlc with worse content then orsinium a class that was in alpha but taken out.and non functioning battle grounds . It was a pliy to force a buy from plus members at almost 3x the cost of a dlc.

Still creating threads about this?? ffs people....

If you don't like it, don't buy it. Simple, right? They won't change because your feelings are hurt about how they handle business, and it is a business. ZOS only cares if you stop throwing your paychecks at them and create a situation where sales are very low compared to what they expected.

For what possible reason would they ever change their practices because you complained yet still purchased it? Things don't work that way. Again, speak with your wallet.

    Per your title, the Question:

"The difference between a chapter and DLC"

    The answer:

    Price.

And would someone PLEASE hit me with an insightful for that BS answer? Been sitting at 199 for what seems like FOREVER.
