New class: Greybeards. shout out heals to group members. What do you think, could Greybeards make the game more interesting to play ?

There's already enough metaphorical yelling going on in zone chat.

    Just no.

I prefer a hand to hand skill line instead (and a Monk as class)
Sarcasm is something too serious to be taken lightly

I was born with the wrong sign
    In the wrong house
    With the wrong ascendancy
    I took the wrong road
That led to the wrong tendencies
I was in the wrong place at the wrong time
For the wrong reason and the wrong rhyme
On the wrong day of the wrong week
Used the wrong method with the wrong technique

The Greybeard's numbers don't even reach double digits, and what about the female characters? I'd be very concerned if every woman under this class suddenly sprouted a beard.

The greybeards are a reclusive, specific group (that I don't know exists right niw, though they might!) and wouldn't make a great class design, though thu'um (shouting) is certainly on the table. I'd like to see it as a world tree so we can all get it.

They are just a bunch of grumpy old men that sit on top of the hill waiting for the next dragon born to arrive . Besides playing ice hockey with shouts at the lake they don't really venture out .

Ok I honestly don't know what they do up there but that's what was imagined .

The biggest problem I see is that unless you're Dragonborn (which none of our characters are) Shouts are very hard to learn, even compared to other forms of magic. It takes years to master just 1, even with structured training. (There's a reason everyone freaks out in Skyrim when your character just does it.)

Learning the different thu'um power words in Skyrim was tough enough, I'd say it would be nearly impossible in ESO. The rest of the Skyrim area would have to be opened up, with new delves, to learn most of them. Also can you imagine what that level 3 storm call shout could do. One could lay waste to entire armies in Cryodiil with it. < This is the reason why we'll never see shouts in ESO. Shouts, ie spells, designed to kill dragons would have hoards of people from Cryodiil running to the forums squealing nerf, nerf, nerf within the first 24 hours.

By the way, the Greybeards during ESO time are in their castle, chilling with their "friend" on the mountain top, receiving tribute from the people in the village down below.

I imagine a shouty class could be retconned in, without having thje class be "Graybeard". Jurgen Windcaller hasn't been dead that long at this point, nd the rules around the Way of the Voice are not so iron-clad.

Makes me think you could make a Wind-Caller class with a sorta martial, DK like backstory. Make it a Nord rather than Akaviri thing.

    Fun speculating...

According to the biography of King Jorunn, he swung by High Hrothgar after the Akaviri started wrecking everything and they taught him a shout that summoned the hero Wulfharth from Sovngarde. So if you believe that that actually happened, then that's precedent from about 10 years before current events.

Of course that doesn't mean that players should be able to be Greybeards or shout-users. If anything, it highlights how significant and unusual it is for a person to be taught a shout.

One: no one said we wouldn't spend years learning our (maybe) five shouts. Not everyone plays a 20 year old dungeon babe, some of are centuries old well traveled vampires, long lived elves, or even just grannies who have practiced shouting for decades! (/s)

Didn't know those four same men would be alive all this time ago- unless you mean the order? The latter seems much more likely. Today, I learned!

Edit: as I thought about it, the fact that you need to learn them for a long time means game balance is easier. They'd be weak, as our characters aren't dragonborn. (NO commanding legions of undead or meteor showers :p)
