Placing Books in Homes

This may be a silly question. Is there a easier way to place books in your homes, other than one at a time?
I just earned one set, only ten books. So I bought the book pack from the Mages Guild. I had to unpack it and ended up placing all 10 books separately. It would be insane to have to place the large packs ( 50 - 120 or so ) , also it use up a lot of spaces.

Actually, being able to place books that we've learned, by reading bookshelves in game, into bookshelves in a 'house' would be a cool thing to implement.

It's bad enough that we can't loot things like candles to place into our houses, but I'd sure like to loot the books I learned while adventuring.

I completely agree that the current placement mechanic is suxor, and should have an automatic autoalign option for those that dont want to custom place things like that one-ata-time.

The only "easier" way is to get bookshelves that are already filled with books. These only exist for a few styles ( i know redguard and hlaalu for sure) and are generally epic quality.

Just wait til you get to putting them into bookcases and realize they get stuck and become unreadable there and only way to avoid that is to spend like 5 minutes carefully arranging each book so it's still inside the bookcase but sticking out ever so slightly so it's not stuck...

I noticed it's easier to place them laying flat or stacking on each other in spaces or on tables.

Yep. Can't actually put stacks of books on the shelves properly at all. So have them stacked on floor or desks......

They did make a change so that books can be placed with the surface drag feature enabled, more easily on shelves.
You can also select the stacks of books and/or objects to pull them "off" without having to remove the whole shelf first.

That said, I'd like ALL of the books I read in the Eidetic memory collection to be available for display in my homes.
There are quite a few great books on Vampire Lore; Immortal Blood parts 1 and 2 for example that cannot be placed as readable items.

Only the books in Shalidors Library can be purchased as a set from the vendor and individually placed.

If it makes you feel better, since the book packs are based on Shalidor's Library and not Eidetic Memory, you'll only get ~10 books per pack (or 4 for the Eyevea set).

Of course, as I discovered this weekend, when you only want one or two books apiece from multiple sets, then the clutter can add up pretty quick. In that case you can either remove only the book(s) you want rather than retrieving all of them, in which case you still have the bound container in that character's inventory forever, or (what I did) use a spare apartment or small house to just stash all of the extra books to get them out of the way.

I didn't have too much trouble placing my books on a regular wall shelf. I already knew that the bookcases were trouble so I didn't even bother. If you only have a few books you want to display that's what I recommend.

They did fix the book shelf issue with Morrowind release, so at least you can place them and be readable now, BUT, I have had to take out so many books to make room for other things that I only have a few left!! ARGGGGGG!
I got the Ebon Chateau for a guild hall. Thought how cool it would be to have the whole Shalidors Library for guildies to be a able to read.
Thats 297 books = 297 slots, plus 16-19 book cases to hold them, PLUS, NOW, 36 Lessons of Vivic = 333 books + Cheeses of Tamriel and one other readable book you can aquire = 335 readable books plus 25+/- book cases = 358 SLOTS!!!!!
Thats more space than most houses have!

I still think they ought to make bookcases with an "inventory" feature where you can place readable books (and other bookshelfable items such as skulls or scrolls) inside, and they will be placed as once object, with multiple books clickable and readable...

You can actually, I'll show screenie later. At least some of the smaller books(different collections have different covers and differ in size as well) fit inside Breton bookcase just fine, won't bet on others.

    Other solution is shelves.

They need to incorporate the system they had in Skyrim: Hearthfire, where you could actually place readable books on a bookshelf and they would line themselves up neatly.

Ugh...for immersion sake, reading those would be impossible unelss you plan to play Jenga with each book stack.
This on the other hand makes more sense:

To stack books perfectly on a shelf requires an Addon, since the in-game control systems are spotty at best.
The addon which allows precise placement and orientation of objects is here.

I would have been happy if they replaced Homestead with the Hearthfire system instead. Chests for storage, armour mannequins, bookshelves that work intuitively, in house bards and assistant NPCs, animals and fish for farming, module based custom building from scratch, ability to sleep in beds, children and NPC wives, random NPC and beast (like skeever) attacks, weapon display cases, a house wayshrine (cart) sooo much great stuff that made sense, almost none of it implemented in homestead :(

The OP was talking about the Interactive books, like the Shalidors Library from the Mages Mystic that you can read.
There is , or was, a issue of placing them on shelves and still be able to read them.

Book placing into shelves depends heavily on the type of shelves you use. While my Dunmeri shelves seem to fit for the book size I encountered yet (so that I was able to stack them side by side and upright into the shelf) other shelves I heard were to low so that the books seem to collide with the shelf itself.

Overall I can say, that placing books into shelves is a pretty tedious and time consuming thing...what would I give for the good old Skyrim book shelf menu option...
