for the last six to eight months or so i've kept all my characters parked in Rawl'kha - super convenient services all located a short distance apart from each other...

unfortunately with the recent onset of overwhelming laggy moments - i've come to the conclusion - rawl'kha is no longer a viable staging area for all my characters...things can get really "choppy" at times, as well as frequently long loading screens...

it's a really popular place...

my current plan is to complete the velyn harbor quest on all 10 characters (haven't done it so far with any characters - right now i like going there to just kill and steal at times :D) and set up shop for all my characters there...

as attractive as velyn harbor is - just wondering if any one has any "secret" (and convenient) alternative quiet spots for staging their characters that they may want to share?

Shornhelm is pretty convenient, all crafting stations right next to bank and wayshrine. If they ever add housing NPC with guild store access, however, you can just stay home.

Great picture; have an awesome. Depending on what you need from your staging area, you can now log off in your house without the silly timer. Belkarth, still not so much.
Even on the internet, clear communication is important; it can be the difference between "helping your Uncle Jack off a horse" and "helping your uncle jack off a horse"; the difference between "knowing your s***" and "knowing you're s***".

Riften is almost perfect. The stables are a longish run from the main area, and the wayshrine needs some serpentine over bridges to reach, but the bank and crafting stations and outlaw's refuge are all in close proximity. The dye station too, though you must drop down a dock level and enter an instanced shop to use it.

that's okay - you can have my dozens and dozens of superior set jewelry that I have no idea what to do with (I'm too embarrassed of it to even donate the stuff to my guild banks - seems like it could be useful for someone :#)...

I'm a big fan of Vvardenfell. Most of the instance load is from people outside of the city, so you don't get massive lag or FPS issues. All the resources are there and if you do BGs the BG quest giver is there.

spent some time last night checking out riften as a potential landing spot...the "duelers" kinda turned me off...a little too popular of a choice...

I find Mournhold in Deshaan to be the most convenient. I picked up the Ebony Flask room for that reason.

Writs and crafting stations are all right there, and all three guild HQ are there for getting and turning in quests.

Dhalmora in Bal Foyen has the most convenient crafting area, easily accessed from Humblemud. All the crafting stations, a dye station, and a full banker all under one roof, with a wayshrine nearby. Unfortunately, there are no writ boards, and no stablemaster. Add those, and it would be perfect.

lolz, we need a Rawl'ka #2 ; add crafting stations, refuge and bank, theres already traders, stables, wayshrines and guilds
+Arenthia is awesome and would make silent string demesne most awesome house.

Craglorn is about the only choice if your doing top end writs. I was parked at Velyn Harbor for a year or so but got tired of the load screens to turn in my writs. I wish the would put a large home or better there , homes on the water front are very few in this game.

Lately, Dhalmora has become my favorite "place to be", even though it doesn't have a stablemaster, and I think it also lacks a provisioning station (and the wayshrine is not so close, but not so far either). Other than that, everything is under a single roof (add to that Humblemud, a pretty cheap house next to the market).

Yet, I would +1 Shornhelm, in Rivenspire: small town, everything relatively close together, not so may people around, rarely duelists harassing everyone else... It's only missing an apartment :'( , which I hope could be added in the near future.

If you want a vibrant market in chat for crafting materials and products, especially for bulk sales, then Craglorn is the place for you. If a constant stream of people offering goods and requesting goods in chat to the exclusion of all other human interaction is annoying to you, then you had best find another crafting hub to settle in to.

Oh, and Craglorn is full of scammers. If you're new to Belkarth, keep your wallet in your front pocket and don't let strangers rob you. There are two basic flavors of con artists: (1) People offering legitimate trades at outrageous prices trying to take advantage of noobs who don't know that they could get 10X more for their items than is being offered, and (2) the serious scammers who will try to scam you, either through in-person trade or COD mail, to take your gold in exchange for truly worthless junk, or nothing at all, if you're not careful.
